Reddish amber with a rather big beige head that settles quickly but leaves some lacings. The smell is quite nice. Lots of caramel and malts. Notes of strawberry jam, vanilla and leafy hops. Sweet malts and caramel up front in the mouth. Again, I get a note of strawberry jam. Some other light sweet fruity notes. Some peppery and grassy hop notes. The finish is quite long with a mild lingering sweetness overpowered by a bitterness that misses the mark quite a bit, a hint of hops and sweet and warming alcohol. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel combined with slightly too gentle carbonation. It gets a bit heavy after a while. A decent beer. The flavors in the mouth are good but the finish is off and unbalanced. The taste of alcohol, although not overly powerful, gets to much after a while. I don’t think the different flavors (mostly sweetness and warm alcohol with spicy hop notes) go that well together in this one. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)

Bottle 33 cl.. Dark amber to brownish colour, with lots of carbonation and a very small head. Aroma shows caramel, roasted malts, sweety. Tastes with lots of carbonation, pleasantly bitter, not sweet at all, with hints of coffee. NIce.

Bottle that I picked up Bremen, Germany and consumed at Landsmeer, campsite, Amsterdam, 29-10-09 Pours reddy brown in colour with a white head and light carbonation. There is good clarity to this, toffeeish character, oozy sweetness runs through this. Some caramel a touch of vanilla, its tasty stuff but a bit sweet. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.5

The taste was malty with nice hints of sweet syrup and apricot. Fresh and fruity with a hint of bread. Well balanced and smooth to drink.

It poured a clear dark golden liquid with a small foam that left no lacing. It had a smell of malt and bread. Ik tasted of malt, bread and alcohol. An ok beer.

(Bottle) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, dried fruit, apricots, rye bread and toffee. Slightly herbal. Malty taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, caramel, bread and a sweet, herbal, slightly fiery finish with spicy hops. Medium body. Well balanced and decent bock beer.

Inviting looking reddish copper with a nice off-white head leaving some decent lazing on my mug. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of raisins, nuts, somewhat roasted nuts and a fruity apple note. Taste is like the aroma but sweeter and with a slightly metallic note and a long warming typical german tasting finish. The mouthfeel is a big plus since it’s extremely smooth with just the right amount of carbonation. Decent+.
