Bottle in IC-train going to Kolding - thanks Jørgen. Clear red/brown - offwhite head. Sweetness, ryebread, toasted, berries, light smokey notes, caramel, dried fruits, not much hops. Nice clean.

Burnt caramel colour with a nice head that vanishes rapidly. Aroma of dusty caramel, with a hint of cola and a bit of alcohol. Flavour is dominated by caramel, with nuts and honey, and is quite sweet but still nice. I’d say it’s too sweet but it still manages to pull it off rather nicely. Too sweet but not objectionably so?

Bottle from Systembolaget, Karlstad. Pours a red/copper color with a nice beige head which leaves some lacing. Aroma of caramel, nuts, dried fruits (plums?), berries and some grassy hops. Quite nice aroma. Flavour is very sweet with caramel, nuts, dried fruits, sweet berries and dark bread. Almost honey sweetness - I associate it to some mead I had last spring. Some warming alcohol. On the palate the beer is quite smooth, carbonation is on the low level, nearly fullbodied and filling in the mouth. A nice sipper, but overall just a bit too sweet for me (and I usually tend to be more open to sweet beers than others). Now, I know this is a doppelbock and many of these are very sweet but I wouldn’t mind some more bitterness and/or dryness to balance it all. Nothing wrong otherwhise!

Clear reddish copper clor, small tan head. Malty, grainy, lactic, alcohol scent. Malty, sweet, alcohol taste. Alcohol aftertaste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, with a bitterenss to the end that’s quite lasting. Medium bitterness, a bit sharp.

Bottle@home Apperance: Copper-red with a nice creamy head and some lacing. Aroma: Caramel, Berries, Hops, Roasted malts hint of metal. Flavor: Bread, Dark caramel, Ripe fruit, Berries, Hint of nuts, Grassy hops (Hersbruck?) Palate: Very sweet but not too overpowering. Light touch of hops at the end. Fruity. Since i do not like their Mai-bock i thought i’d dislike this one aswell but that is not the case. This is a well crafted doppelbock even tho i have some problems with the hops they are using. Pleasant!
