Nose of lemony citrus hops, banana, and yeasty white bread. Cloudy yellow with a medium, lightly lacing, pale yellow head. Flavor is very peppery and and little tart with some background banana. Not a great hefe.

I wish I could remember who is contract brewing for these guys... someone down in LA. Pours a hazy gold-orange color with a big frothy white head and yeast cascading down after the pour. Aroma of banana, lemon, and yeast. Seems typical of the style, but comes across a little messy. The flavor is like banana bread with some spicy cloves and grainy wheat. On the sweet side with a medium-light creamy body. Not really bad, but just not inspiring at all. Yes, it’s a hefeweizen, but there is not special quality to it. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2009 Pours a hazy orange amber with a well-lacing froth of white head. Aroma of lightly sweet malted wheat and some earthy noble hops with a hint of banana esters and lemon citrus. Starts semi-sweet and wheaty with some lightly toasted biscuity character and light clove spice with an herbal hoppy bitterness toward a crisp finish. Farily true to style, but could use a little more yeasty esters and sweetness.
