16 July 2004 - Slight herbaceous, sweet, Ok but nothing spectacular aroma. Some white head retention lacing, amber clear colour. Simplistic malt sweetness is slightly grassy/metallic tatse that lingers. Bitter finish unpleasant aftertaste, the rating reduces the more you drink.

A very pleasant and easy to drink pils. Its overiding characteristic is its softness and a gentle maltiness. Nice head and it retains its flavour.Highl;y recommended.

For the price ( less than a quid ) a good drinkable Czech beer - better than whats usually passed off as pils. Yup mate good but not as good.

Bottled. Pale golden beer with a generous, soft white cap. Green, continental hop aroma. Good malt flavour set against a decent bitter backdrop. Moderate to good length on the palate. I’d agree with Gez, it’ ‘just not as good as Urquell or Budvar’.

Bottled. Gold, good white head and moderate condition.Good malt and grain aroma with some fine hoppiness. Malty in the mouth but quite thin with some gentle hop flavour. Shortish finish with slight hop bitterness dominating. Not bad, just not as good as Urquell or Budvar.

I'll rate this one higher than the pilsener urquell that I had last week only cos it was easier to drink and had a better bite. Colour is red-gold, aroma was upfront of malt and then hoppy, and the taste was of a lager with a cleansing bitter finish although slightly metallic. Nothing fancy but a decent beer. Cheers!

I think it is great that this has to be considered average. In comparison to the typical Aussie macro stuff available this is a standout. Compared to a Budvar or PU it does fall down a bit, but only in the face of stiff opposition. Nevertheless it has a good softness, hop presence and malt flavour that make this style an eminently drinkable one.
