Commercial Description:
Eisenbahn’s Defumada, very much like the famous smoked lagers of Bamberg, Germany, is brewed with a special, smoked barley malt, giving it a rich, smoky flavor and aroma. A delicious and immensely satisfying lager.
Ideal temperature: from 4 to 6 degrees

12 oz. bottle via trade with DragonStout Another end of the Tasting beer. Pours an amber color with a small off white head. Aroma and flavor is as advertised, smoky. Medium body. This was a very good smoked beer. Just wish I could remember it better. Thanks Brian.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread, caramel), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a note of smoke. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, syrupy/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Pleasant aroma, but it suffers a bit from the same balance problem (too much sweetness) of the other beers I’ve had from this brewery. A shame, ’cause with more finishing bitterness this would be a contender for a great everyday smoked beer. Pretty good stuff though.

Shared by Dickinsonbeer. Amber in color with a small tan head. Aroma: smoked meat, campfire, wood, with some malty sweetness. Taste is very smoky- smoked ribs, campfire- smoky wood, with a nice sweet caramel malt backbone to balance it out. Nice and full bodied. Finishes smoky with lingering sweet, smooth malts. Really good, especially considering it was made in South America!

Pours bright copper into a Shaker. Fluffy white head recedes with no lacing to skim surface. Crisp and sweet caramel upfront, with a lasting smoke finish.

Pours an amber color with a tan head. Aroma is smokey with some roastiness, caramel, dark fruits, and some toasted malts. Flavor is of meat, smoke, slight roasted malts, and caramel. Flavor doesn’t really linger. Good but not great.

Sample courtesy of cbkschubert. Good smooky aroma. Amber body with decent head. Good blend of smoke and roasted flavors. A sweetness lingered on the palate.

Poured a deep amber-chestnut body with a medium-sized whitish head. Nose of rich caramel maltiness. Gritty, sticky, and slightly peaty. A little too malty for my preference. Finished a bit syrupy.

bottle - Pours amber with a one finger head. The aroma is caramel malt and light smoke. The flavor is sweet caramel malt with mild smoke notes. The body is light to medium and it finishes with the slightest hint of bitterness. It’s fairly good, but could use more smoke. edit: Rating #1100 - I wasn’t expecting the music and the opening accordion notes actually made me jump. heh...
