Coloração caramelo escuro, sem muita espuma, no cheiro é levemente defumada. Leve amargor no retrogosto. O suave sabor caramelo dá o toque final nessa boa cerveja. jmm1 (109), Andorra
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2007 From bottle in Rio de Janeiro. Brown body with a small laced head. Smokey aroma, which is normal, with some plum and burned caramel hints. Smoky malts on the top of the tongue, caramel, and slight bitterness at the end. The style is not as marked as in German Bambergs. Light in mouth, middle fizzing, it is refreshing and lively. A nice try for this brazilian brewer. SledgeJr (2961), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 9, 2007 In the bottle from Beertopia. Pours a chestnut brownish amber with a yellow-beige medium-sized head of fairly good retention. Aroma is delightfully smokey in a ham sandwich kind of way. Really pleasant and not over done.Superb malty and smokey flavor that allows the sweetness to preside. No residual burnt aftertaste of smoke at all. Finishes with a slight chemical potion flavor residing on the tongue. Medium carbonation and fairly good lacing in the glass. This is my favorite Eisenbahn beer by far. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 8, 2007 12 oz bottle, via holdenn. Pours a dark amber colored body under a fizzy beige head that retained with the help of some vigerous carbonation. A little light on the smoke for my tastes in the aroma, but still better than some. Toasted malt and a little caramel below the smoke. A nice campfire smokiness in the flavor that lingers on into the finish. Could use a little more heft in the malt maybe, but at 6.5% you’d think that there would be plenty. Slightly medicinal finish. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a little too much fizzy carbonation, though it’s pretty soft. This was pretty decent, and grew on me as I made my way thru the bottle. Better than average. bhensonb (4289), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 7, 2007 Aroma of smoked cheese. Coppery color with a frothy white head. It’s so firm it has neither disappeared or laced. Probably won’t lace much. Starts with smoke, medium body, develops malt sweetness with swishing. The smoke is at every stage. Towards the end there seems to be a bit of sour. Not finding any bitter sensations. The smoke is strong enough to cover hop notes, if any. Reminds me of landjager sausage. Not an everyday drink (for me), but I’d have it again. It goes very well with pepper turkey on ciabatta. bu11zeye (5510), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of light smokiness, fried sausage, some fruitness, and caramel. Flavor of subtle smoke, caramel malt, and some nuts. LinusStick (1846), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 3, 2007 This tastes like a beef jerky flavored beer. Not that that is bad, but different. Aroma of smoke and malt. Pour was a dark brown with a thin 1 finger tan head. Taste was beef jerky, smoke and some malt in the finish. Very odd and good. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 1, 2007 Pours a dark mahogany, with a onr finger head that fades quickly to a saopy cap and ring. The remaining foam leaves behind a nice lacing.
Smell; tone of sweet malts with caramel, toffee and little bi of brown sugar. The smoked aroma is a bit subdued (compared to it’s German counterparts), with some hints of smoked meat.
Taste; a bit sweet up front with the caramel, toffee and a touch bready. the smokiness comes out in the middle to back end, and becomes a little more pronounced as this comes closer to room temp. I think this would be a very good introduction to rauchbiers for someone who has never had the style before. I think this comes as close as you can get to sessionable as smoked beers can get.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and maybe a touch sticky from the sweet malts, with a pretty darn good drinkability.
