Light hazy brown-orange with a thin off white head. Light smokey bacon aroma. Taste is a nice solid smoke note with a harsh metal tang in the finish. Narnad (720), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 16, 2009 Beer pours from the bottle a deep copper color, moderately thick white head while the beer has a very high carbonation rate to keep the head thick and full. Aroma has lots of roasted caramel malt with a moderate liquid smoke or smoked ham aroma at the tail of the sniff. The beer has a very quickly dissipating caramel sweetness which is over taken by the smoke and ham flavor. Once I got the idea that I was drinking a semi-ham flavor beer, it went down a bit slower. The beer as a whole is a nice surprise and pretty well done but I am going to note that I am not the biggest fan of Rauchbiers in general. I think it would do better complementing a meal instead of drinking it casually. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Deep copper pour with white head and lace. Light perfume, peat on the nose. Slight toasted malt with a tad of smoke and a nice finishing bitter. Medium bodied but just a tad foamy. A very decent beer, SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

This clear, dark amber brew sits under an average-sized, fleeting, off-white head.
Sweet, smoky malt aroma.
A bit sweet, but smooth with some depth. Nice smoky notes. Not great, but considering it’s origin, it surprised me.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2009 Reddy honey coloured body with short and hardly lasting light tan head. Aroma stood out, smoked ham. Taste is not as heavy with the smoke but the ham/bacon is still there, would go great with food. One of the better ones from this brewery. Butters (1651), Virginia, USA

Pours a clear reddish amber with ring of light tan head. Great smokey ham aroma with some alcohol notes. Flavor is lightly smokey and pretty good as well. Very highly carbonated and prickly on the tongue. Solid smoked lager. carruthm (1171), Seattle, Washington, USA
