heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA May 29, 2007 From a bottle. The body is dark brown with a light brown colored head. The aroma is rich with coffee and chocolate. The taste is dry roasted with some almonds. There is also a little bit of iced tea and dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is thin and slick. This is a pretty good dunkel. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA May 28, 2007 Bottle. Dark ruby black beer with a tan head. Caramel, malt, and slight hay aroma. Caramel malt with a bit of roastiness and chocolate and backing smokiness. Medium body. Lingering caramel and earth with malt. jazz88 (2235), San Francisco, California, USA May 24, 2007 Bottle. Dark brown color with a laced light brown head. Cereal and malty aroma with the familiar German dunkel aroma and flavor. Smoked with light chocolate, earthy and licorice flavors. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 21, 2007 Pours a dark mahogany amber with a thin ring of light tan head. Aroma of toasty, earthy dark caramel malt with nice German lager yeast and mild noble hops. Body starts with nice, mild dark caramel sweetness and smooth, balanced, lightly earthy finish. Very true to style and drinkable. Beltramelli (471), Campinas, Brazil May 21, 2007 It could be better. Aroma and palate of toasted malt, coffee and caramel. Watery.............................................................PORTUGUÊS: Poderia ser melhor. Aroma e paladar de malte torrado, café e caramelo. Aguada. porterhouse (1148), Alna, Maine, USA May 18, 2007 (Bottle (batch 36) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/portland/downeast-beverage-co/974.htm target=blank>Downeast Beverage Co.) My least favorite of the Eisenbahns so far...Pours dark brown, looks clear. Half-inch or so of tan head that rather quickly becomes nothing. Light malty aroma of vanilla and brown sugar. Mouthfeel fairly smooth but not much real texture. Fine needle-like prickliness. Pleasant cocoa-like flavor but also something a little off in there. Not much here to really get excited about. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 13, 2007 Wow! Now this is a beer. I saw "dunkel" and I thought "blah". But this put a delicious twist on the style. Pour was a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate (yes chocolate!) and alcohol. Taste was alcohol, chocolate and burnt malt. Almost tatstes like a Jack and Coke that has been left out for an hour. Only complaint is that it is a little thin in the mouthfeel with no real after taste. All in all an awesome beer jcat (23), USA May 3, 2007 Brazillian beer. Very dark lager. It has a very dark brown color. Very malty beer. I really couldn’t taste any chocolate in it.
