DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA

The mildly aromatic nose offers chocolaty, lightly roasty malts with a hint of sourness in characteristically clean lager fashion. Whatever this beer may lack in appearance and aroma, the flavor does its best to make up the difference. Prominent, lightly sweet chocolate is accompanied by a pleasant nuttiness and a gentle hop bitterness, finishing with a touch of roast. But because toffee becomes more apparent in both the flavor and nose as the beer warms up, I think this beer is best served well-chilled to truly enjoy the chocolaty goodness. Medium in body and carbonation. While my overall impression is one of only mild enthusiasm, it’s definitely another tasty beer from this Brazilian brewery. blipp (1652), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours very dark brown with a fizzy beige head. Light roasted aroma with caramel and coffee. The flavor is again roasted, with sweeter notes of caramel and a light coffee note. Nice. TaktikMTL (2771), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada

Blackbody with a redtynt and thin dark tan head. Good roasted nut and some chcoclate in the mix. Had a cola carbination to it that bought out some sweeetener. Easy on the palate with moderate bittering good beer. jrob21 (1258), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2008 Decent dunkel that is more on the roasted malt side than the fruity banana and spice side. A bit of a chalky texture as well. Pours a dark brown. Aroma is a little bit of yeast and some spice. Flavor leans more to the caramel and chocolate malt flavors. ghawener (953), San Salvador, El Salvador

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 17, 2008 Updated: Jul 31, 200812 oz, batch 17. Dark brown with red highlights and a medium head that settles down and hangs well. Chocolate and lightly sweetened coffee aroma. Flavor is similar, with the delicious roasted tastes providing the bittering more so than the hops. A hint of molasses, corn, and smoke at times. Medium body is smooth, dry and has a bit of tongue tingle. Surprisingly excellent dunkel, and a great session beer.
