The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel as well as some notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as quite a lot of straw. Fine Dunkel. Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Dec 31, 2007 Bottled, Batch 36. Poured clear, deep reddish-brown with a swirly dustin gand a light ring of off-white head. The aroma picked up a nice blend of sweeter chocolate, drawn caramel, and molasses.. a little smoke as an accent piece. The flavor was quite similar and equally enjoyable.. sweet, smoke-accented chocolate and molasses at the core with toasted grains and caramel extending toward the edges.. not much bitterness at all.. sweet, dry finish. Light-medium bodied on the palate and very sweet (but well done).. the dry finish was rather refreshing. Good stuff!
