Quite light bodied and just a hint of astringency in the back palate. Drinks very easily and certainly not sweet of cloying. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 10, 2008 Aroma is rich, malty and smoky, more like a stout than a lager. It pours a dark translucent brown, not as dark as a stout or porter, but still appetizing and with a thick, fluffy, persistent head. Flavor is crisp, fuller than most lagers I have tried and with a definite smoky overtone. It feels just a little thin, but as far as lagers go it is outstanding.
