Looked alright in the glass even smelled ok. Dark brown body with a light tan head. Some chocolate in the nose also some roasted notes. Smooth taste, mainly malts, caramel even vague hints of smoke, better than some of the other Eisenbahns I have tried.

Thanks to Skyview for sharing. Burnt nuts and chocolate on the aroma of this brown beer. Chocolate with cardboard hints in the body.

Bottle. Nutty, toasted aroma drenched in doppelbockish malt - superb! Touch of earthy funk from the hops. Coke-colored pour with an ephemeral tanned head - gone in 8-10 seconds. Crisp medium-full body, medium bitterness with a splash of alcohol and, surprisingly, actual Coke-ish notes (Jack and Coke, really). The wonderful nutty and toasty notes of the prelude are, however, absent in the show and reserved for the dry aftertaste. Sideways notes of brown sugar and grape. Touch of chocolate, but takes a few ounces to notice it. Well-rounded, though somewhat non-German Dunkel.

Bottle. Dark brown with mahogany tinges and a small white head. Raisiny aroma along with chocolate and caramel. Light metallic notes and otherwise nutty with sweet chocolate notes. Quite flavourful and interesting.

pours a clear dark brown with purple highlights and a small beige head. aroma of coffee and toast. flavors is heavy on the coffee and roasted notes with some chocolate. almost stout-like with the coffee. dry finish. light-medium bodied. lacks the creaminess of a great dunkel with a bit too much coffee.

Bottle. Pours clear ruddy brown with a lacy off-white head. Lightish body, minimal carbonation. Aroma of tootsie roll with a dash of pine. Taste of chocolate and brown sugar with a lot of nutty quality on the back end. Dry, wheaty and rather lightly bitter finish.
