Last one of my beers brought back from Brazil, glad to say it was a really good one. Pours a dark ruby with a lovely head, left some lacing even. Aroma was surprisingly complex, with notes of warm bread, roasted malt, a touch of molasses, and chocolate. Amazing for a dunkel. It was light on the palate, appropriate for the tropical climates it came from. Flavor was a bit of tangy roasty, but not acidic, as chocolate balanced it out. A world class beer, I was highly impressed.

From bottle in Rio de Janeiro. Dark caramel body with a beige fluffy and lasting head. Roasted malts, chocolate and vanilla dominate a complex nose. Tastes like a wonderful expresso made of perfectly roasted coffee beans. Complexity appears all over the tongue, with varying tones of roastiness and sweetness. Extremely balanced, its small carbonation enhances the flavours without losing on freshness, which makes it a quite dunkel. Goes straight to the top of its class.

Aroma is rich, malty and smoky, more like a stout than a lager. It pours a dark translucent brown, not as dark as a stout or porter, but still appetizing and with a thick, fluffy, persistent head. Flavor is crisp, fuller than most lagers I have tried and with a definite smoky overtone. It feels just a little thin, but as far as lagers go it is outstanding.

12 oz, batch 17. Dark brown with red highlights and a medium head that settles down and hangs well. Chocolate and lightly sweetened coffee aroma. Flavor is similar, with the delicious roasted tastes providing the bittering more so than the hops. A hint of molasses, corn, and smoke at times. Medium body is smooth, dry and has a bit of tongue tingle. Surprisingly excellent dunkel, and a great session beer.

Got this some time ago from beer of the month club. Wish I could find a place to get some more. Top shelf beer smooth, strong hint of chocolate with a caramel finish . A world class beer to say the least. I tried it also with the Defumada which was also good but this was wonderful. it was definitely to my particular taste. A higher score from then most.

Poured a deep dark brown color, nice off-white initial head, although it didn’t stick around much or lace significantly. Looked pretty fresh in that Kostritzer glass of mine (used for schwarzbiers and dunkels). The aroma was roasted chocolate and coffee along with some dry nuts. The flavor was roasted coffee and chocolate, nuts, very light grass, and finishing with a touch of breadiness. The finish is extremely crisp and dry, nailing the essence of a lager. Full flavor, very crisp finish, excellente! Very worthy of high dunkel honors, as this style doesn’t easily impress.

Forget Xingu, this is Brazil's best beer and one of the best dunkels I'vw had anywhere in the world. Near black colour, wonderful toasty malt aroma. Dry, crisp flavour, a bit chocolatey. Medium palate.

Bottled, Thanks Per! This is one of my favorite Dunkels. Black, no head. Aroma is roasted and sweet with some noble hops. Slight hops bitterness dominates the flavor. Watery body(typical for the style), dry finish. Excellent.
