Bottle. Pours clear ruddy brown with a lacy off-white head. Lightish body, minimal carbonation. Aroma of tootsie roll with a dash of pine. Taste of chocolate and brown sugar with a lot of nutty quality on the back end. Dry, wheaty and rather lightly bitter finish.

6/24/2007: Eisenbahn Dark Lager pours a very dark brown color. The aroma is rich caramel and molasses. The flavor has roasted malt, some molasses, and ceramy light chocolate. Medium-light to medium body. This is a good dark lager.

12 oz bottle (Batch No. 36) Shared with Rob and Lance at the Oatmeal Stout Brewout. Rating #36 for this beer...

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at John’s Market Place in Portland, Oregon. Pours a semi-clear brownish amber brew with a thin tan head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of roasted dark malt, a touch of banana esters, Baker’s chocolate and some caramel, Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated, with flavors of roasted dark malt, some flowery hops, a touch of chocolate and roasted nuts. Finish is semi-sweet, smooth with a light caramel aftertaste that quickly disappears.

Bottle. Long time since I’ve drunk this one. I’m not the greatest fan of lagers, but this ’dunkel’ is worthy every penny. Very good Brazilian beer (rare).

Coloração caramelo. Espuma marrom, cremosa mas pouco vigorosa. Discreto amargor, com toques de cereais torrados e café. Residual ligeiramente adocicado.

This was a nice dunkel, not as smooth as some, slightly watery, but still had a good flavor. Lightly roasty chocolate flavor that builds as it warms. Fruity finish with just a light hopping to balance it out. Pours a beautiful mahogany with a soft khaki head.

Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 12 oz bottle. Dark copper pour, khaki colored head, some lacing. Sweet aroma - some chocolate, raisins, hints of molasses. Flavor is quite full-bodied - some pipe tobacco, raisins, caramel, cola. Good rib sticking Dunkel. Thick enough mouthfeel. Color me slightly impressed.
