Commercial Description:
A style of beer that originated in the city of Cologne, in Germany. It's a top fermenting beer brewed with four different malts, including wheat malt. Medium bodied, malty, golden colored, with a slight fruity aroma and low bitterness.

Bottle: Translucent golden, minor white head, sudsy, sparce lacing, soft carbonation.   Soft grassy nose, sweet, minor straw/hay.   Sweet grass up front, very pale malts on the back.   Clean, perhaps even a bit meatier than most other examples.   Certainly darker, or at least more golden in color than lots of others in the style.   Body and mouthfeel, for a Kolsch, are quite well rounded.   Lingering sweetness well after the finish.   Not as crisp as I would have expected for the style, but still good.   Reminds me of a toned down Maibock.   At least I can say that for a brewery in Brazil to do this, good work!   It does seem a bit bigger than your average Kolsch tho.

Yellow with a medium sized, disappearing head. Malty aroma, with the slightest hint of lemon. Dry and malty with just the right peppery finish. As good as the best German kölsch

12 ounce bottle. Golden with a thin head. Aroma -- faint, perhaps a hint of grain. Flavor of light sweet malt, fruity and bready with hint of wheat.

Bottle 355 ml
Appearance :Clear golden ale with visible carbonation, medium white top
Nose :Sweet malty, grainy aroma with light touch of alcohol.
Flavour/Palate: Slightly dry harshness somewhat reduced by good malt character. Light and drinkable. Approachable, straight forward ale. Decent effort.

12 ounce bottle from Cellars Wine and Spirits on Larpenteur, Roseville MN (June 2007), served a little below cellar temperature from a Hair of the Dog glass. A moderate, creamy off-white head shows little stability, falling rapidly atop the very clear amber-gold body....grassy, lightly fruity (berries, apple) aroma, with a bit of pungent earthiness coming into play shortly, a hint of honey; somewhat indistinct but not unattractive....lightly tart, fairly full body shows the wheat certainly, and I fancy a bit of rye, a hint of juniper....the interest dies off a bit by midpalate though, as the unstable malt foundations fall apart and a wateriness sets in....the finish is somewhat mineralic/salty, dry and rather thin....it all adds up to decent enough, but not quite hitting the mark.

From a twist-off 12 oz. bottle, batch number (09) along the right side of label, sampled in a stange glass. A clear reddish orangey golden appearance with a small foamy white that quickly settled into a thin, semi-sudsy lacing. Aromas of sweet bread, barley, light green grape fruitiness and a subtle vegetal, herbal hop. Pleasant, fruity tasting Kölsch, medium carbonation with a firm moderate bodied mouthfeel, dryish and crisp, wheat, multigrain breadiness, mildly tart green grape skins, a light touch of mineral salt, soft herbal hops, slightly veggie too, a dry fruity, bready finish. Maybe my expectations were too high for this, it is a smooth, easy drinking Kölsch-style ale, but here in the Great Lakes/Midwest region we have several microbreweries and brewpubs who have this German style as one of their summertime seasonal releases, and well, I’ve had better.

Some type of fusion style between Belgian ale and Kolsch. It has Belgian yeast in the aroma, but flavor is clearly of a German lager. Dark gold color and sweet malt flavor. Smooth, full mouthfeel.
