Pours hazy orange with a lacing white head. Mild yeasty and light spiced aroma. Flavour is sweet malty with a light rubbery/smoked flavour. Solid citric sweet flavour following. Mild yeasty note lurking through. Ends mellow yeasty and citric. Light bitter flavour into the finish. thornecb (1799), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

Once the cork pops the ale explodes and spews volcanically a deep amber into a flute. Had to cap to keep from gushing as it sat. Medium sized head receded to skim surface. Sweet pit fruit from front to back with a lasting alcohol finish. Heavily carbonated, but refreshing palate. Lots of floaties toward the end of the bottle. Dunk (35), SoCal, USA

Lots of carbonation. Sweet fruity flavors - very crisp. Could finish drier. tiffanya (45), Federal Way, Washington, USA

Have your glass ready for this one -- uncorked and after a brief pause, it came gushing out. Unique, complex. Sweet and dry. Fruity and spicy. Notes of honey and smokey peat. Peaty, earthiness is slightly reminiscent of mushrooms (in a good way, if you can say that for a premium beer!). Warming alcohol. Sparkly, bubbly carbonation. Naven (876), Poway, California, USA

This cork was practically welded on and when I finally finagled it off, this was a full on geyser. Very carbonated. No real aroma, but the flavor was a bit funky, and very very sweet. Would have liked this more if it was a little drier. Still pretty good though. My first real beer from Brazil because that Brahma crap doesn’t count. Bartzilla (443), San Diego, California, USA

Once the cork popped this gushed foam and poured a light copper colored into the glass. Very sweet and you can tell it’s 11.5%. This definitely is more of a dessert beverage. Heavy duty tasty. Huge, enormous white bubbly head. Clear, shinny, golden color with vivid carb and lace leaving head. Strong, perfumey, spicy, yeasty aroma with some white wine notes. Strong flavor, rather sweet. Some cidery notes, some muscat grapes. Sweet but not cloying. Alcohol very well hidden. Medium to light palate, really dangerously drinkable for such a strong beer. Not as dry as expected. Fairly rounded. Amazing, ludicrous strong belgian ale. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 17, 2008 Amber colored, almost no head, not much lacing or retention. Although, this was a ’glass’ sample at a bar so I’m gonna let that slide. There was still carbonation, etc etc. Aroma is very fruity, somewhat yeasty and I’m even getting a little bit of smoke. Medium bodied, quite sweet, very enjoyable.
