tiffanya (40), Sumner, Washington, USA May 6, 2008 Served in DeuS glass. Have your glass ready for this one -- uncorked and after a brief pause, it came gushing out. Unique, complex. Sweet and dry. Fruity and spicy. Notes of honey and smokey peat. Peaty, earthiness is slightly reminiscent of mushrooms (in a good way, if you can say that for a premium beer!). Warming alcohol. Sparkly, bubbly carbonation.
shigadeyo (1500), Southwest Ohio Area, Alabama, USA Nov 19, 2008 7/28/2007: Eisenbahn Lust is very lively and well-carbonated. It has a light copper orange color and a big foamy (large bubbles) head that is a very light orangy-gold color. The aroma is yeasty, mildly sweet, and lightly fruity. This beer is sweet (like sugar) and has flavors of fruity and toasty malt. The alcohol content becomes apparent when the beer is at warmer temperatures. Eisenbahn is light and efferevescent in the mouth and has a bubbly mouthfeel like champagne. I really enjoyed this beer and look forward to sharing a bottle with my wife sometime soon. I think she will enjoy it as well since it is more like champagne than beer.

Sample from 750 mL bottle (11.5% ABV, VAL 07 2008) shared at the "Columbus Tasting: Ate, now with gramatical errors" event. Thanks! Rating #87 for this beer...
bonbright7 (161), Bellport, New York, USA Oct 17, 2008 I found this unusual bottle at Shoreline in Huntington, Ny and brought it to a tasting last night. While the label was in Portugese, the beer flowed like Veuve Cliqot Demi sec (semi sweet) and tasted like the same. The assembled group loved the sample they got and thought it would be a great dessert beer. Nandobier (15), Brazil Oct 7, 2008 Excelente! After that cork popped this overflowed with a huge fizzy white head. Nose is citrus, grain, some herbal hops, yeast and really sweet. Along with the sweetness the alcohol begins poking out as the head slides down. Sweet malty grain flavors with more of that alcohol. It doesn’t taste 11.5% but it sure tastes as if there is too much booze here. The malt is too weak to back up all that alcohol and the faint herbal and grassy hops, aren’t very effective either. drewbeerme (1895), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 29, 2008 750ml bottle. thanks to xnoxhatex for sharing! pours hazy golden with huge foamy white head. sweet grainy aroma, with grassy hop notes. flavor is sweet, grassy, a bit yeasty. not much going on in this.
