Commercial Description:
Eisenbahn’s South American Pale Ale is well-balanced, with sweet wholesome malt, and earthy complexity, and a uniquely spicy aroma that results from a special, and secret, blend of Old and New World hops.

Yellow with a small white head. Malty aroma that reminds me more of a pilsner. Grainy sweet flavour with a hint of wood. Highly carbonated, too much for my taste. I love Eisenbahn’s German beers, but this doesn’t impress me.

Pours golden w/ a medium sized froth. Head retention is quickly fading resulting in a full dusty canopy and a thin ring of lace. Aroma is very fruity w/ aged, musty fruit, some grasses, enchilada sauce, and spice. Very unique indeed. Medium nectar w/ soft and creamy residual effers. This is a very unique tasting brew w/ a rather spicy, fruity character. Kinda reminds me of a Marzen style w/ it’s big malty backbone supporting an abundant fruit profile. The finish is slightly spicy, creamy, and mildly bittered. I really enjoyed this brew. Slightly old worldish w/ a modern twist. I’d call it a P.A. but definately not American style.

(12oz bottle) Crystal clear apple juice body atop medium head. Aroma is medium sweet, orange, light honey. Taste is medium sweet, orange, some spice, yeast, flower/perfume, bread, light grapefruit. Soft, light-medium body. Would never think of this as an APA -- probably should be moved, but not sure where it belongs. Golden Ale?

A Mes rate: Bottle at GBBF. Golden brown with a thin film. Wheat and straw aroma with an odd hont of marzipan but it works. Flavour is much the same but with a rather nasty hint of cooking fat. Not great.

Bottled - GBBF 2007. A golden coloured beer with some decent hops and sweet malts in the aroma. The taste is malty and lacking hops. Chewy sweetness gives it a heller bock feel. It’s Ok but not what I was expecting.

Bottle ml
Appearance :Clear amber gold with rather small fizzy pour on top..
Nose :Rich sweet malts , caramel spiced with gentle dose of hops.
Flavour/Palate: Crisp, spicy hops up front yet this ale is largely of sweet kind. Very quaffable set up. Medium carbonation and rather unique Belgian ale notes found as well. Toasty , maltier finish. Smooth and very clean. It does run as multi style hybrid. Gently made with intelligent purpose. Highly recommended for balanced brew lovers.

Bottle, poured pale amber with small, fast disappearing white head. Not much aroma, what there is is hop and citrus. flavour of malt and citus with bland finish. Not much happening here.

Half decent aroma with subtle hop citrus, spice and some malt. Pours a nice orange-red with half decent head. Initial corn taste warns you that it might be a loser. Redeems itself with a moderate body, spiciness, and a decent hop finish. Lets face it, not alot of solid product comes out of south america, so give credit where credit is due. Underhopped as compared to an U.S. pale, but not too bad.
