Commercial Description:
Eisenbahn’s South American Pale Ale is well-balanced, with sweet wholesome malt, and earthy complexity, and a uniquely spicy aroma that results from a special, and secret, blend of Old and New World hops.

Pours a very transparent caramel color, qith quickly diminishing white head. Absolutely no lacing. Nose is grassy hops, mild esters, some wet paper maybe. Flavor is pretty mild with watery body, though it kind of makes for a pleasant gulper. Slight sweet esters in the middle with a grassy finish. Pretty drinkable and definately different.

pours a dark gold with a 11/2 finger off white bubbly head. aroma is grain, some hops, and lemon. has a light to medium body with ok lacing and descent carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma. has a little sediment floating around, but unimpressive. has just a touch of a dry hop aftertaste and also a little sweet grassy, hay, wheat aroma and flavor. as it warms there is a little pine that shows up in the aftertaste.

Bottle poured a clear amber with a small diminishing off white head. Aromas of carmel, fruitiness and light yeast. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of pear, apple, carmel and a faint hint of spice with a crisp lightly sweet finish.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain/bread, cookie), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers), with a note of honey. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Very honeyish aroma...pleasant but admittedly not much like an APA. Unrelenting sweetness makes it a bit hard to drink...again, not much like an APA. With some minor repairs this could be really nice.

12 oz. bottle from heemer77, thanks Eric. pours a pale golden yellow with a short-lived white head, fading to just a wisp of lace. aroma is strangely spicy with some mint leaves and herbs I can’t put my finger on. flavor is a bit grassy with some malt lurking in the background as well as some of the previously mentioned mint and herbs. a bit unusual, but not bad by any means.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at John’s Market Place in Portland, Oregon. Pours a clear golden pale brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and ring. Aroma of mostly hefeweizen character with scents of light caramel, banana esters, a touch of cloves and some sweet corn. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of multi-grain malt with wheat, some banana esters, and a touch of floral hops. Finish is semi-sweet with a caramel and fruity flavor. Not much in pine or grapefruit but now I use this as a standard for South American Pale Ale.

Pours a deep gold color with nice lacing and a thin tan head. Aroma of hops and caramel. Flavor is slightly bitter with a nice maltiness. Good.
