gws57 (995), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA May 10, 2008 Found this bottled in an import multi-pack at World Market in St. Charles, Illinois. Clear, medium brown pour with a rapidly dissipating foamy tan head, a mild, fruity malty nose, very malty taste, peaty and nutty with a heavy, malty finish. Very unlike the style, not at all hoppy, and very different.
minch25 (195), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 12, 2008 Pours clear honey amber w/ thin eggshell white head. Spicy slightly metallic hoppy aroma as if it were a pilsner. Heavily grainy flavor, esp retronasal. Touch of malt sweetness. Good, not amazing. Interesting. acrdz (4406), Boulder, Colorado, USA Sep 17, 2008 12oz bottle. Nose has some mild floral ginger notes, Belgian-style yeast esters present along with some some sweet honey. Fairly banal flavor, some mildly sweet honey malts, some creaminess to the texture, a mild candy sugar note as well. Simple, sweet, lightly hoppy. Forgettable but very easily drinkable. brew4fun (131), West Virginia, USA Sep 13, 2008 12 oz. bottle - Batch 38. Pour is copper/ golden with 1/2 inch creamy white head, slowly diminishing but never disappearing. Interesting lacing to the bottom of the glass. Aroma fresh and spicy. Flavor of pale and crystal malt, well rounded with balanced bitterness. Reminds me of a decent British Ale. Palate smooth, but a bit thin for my taste. Easy drinking, tangerine aftertaste. RichJ7 (890), Cullman, Alabama, USA Aug 28, 2008 Deep gold with a quarter-inch white head. Nice hoppy nose. Flavorful malt with a nice hop zing. earthy and crisp. Not bad. ghawener (698), San Salvador, El Salvador Aug 24, 2008 bottle: light body , malty herbal and sweet. thin small head. drinkable a good decent brew.
