pours dark brown/amber colored with a big off white head, some lacing. winey aroma. mellow sweet tone, with a touch a touch of sourness. the sour dissipates as the beer warms, and then i get licorice tones. the mouth feel is a bit bubbly, and i et the licorice finish. perhaps a bit too winey for me overall. but how did this get to be about me?

Bottle purchased at Julios. Poured a muddy brown with off white/light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, dough, caramel, yeast/bubblegum, abd fruit. Flavor was pretty solid. Bubblegum and chocolate were the most prominent flavors. Hints of pit fruit, alcohol and spice. Above average for the style.

Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel), light hops (grass), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of dates and pears. Medium bodied, oily texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Bottle from Beverages 4 Less. This beer pours an extremely hazy maroonish color. Aroma is somewhat sweet bubblegum mixed with spices and tobacco. Dark fruit flavors up front. Some qualities of a dubbel. Decent yeast flavor with a very dry earth finish. No alcohol is noticeable. Good brew.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium brown, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, cookie, toasted grain), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of overripe banana, cola, and clove. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Not bad, not bad. A little too syrupy sweet even given the style, as expected from this brewery, but the nose is pleasant.
