Very sweet, wheaty, spicy aroma - clove, brown sugar, just the slightest hint of bubblegum and banana. Murky dark brown pour with a rocky tanned / light brown head. Crisp taste of deep malt, less caramel and more brown sugar, with strong grape notes and a lesser touch from the aromatic notes mentioned above. Raisin. Spices and clove are really nice here, not over-the-top, contributing firmly steadily. Medium-full mouthfeel drenched in malt, smooth and delicious. Alcohol is well-integrated and non-noticeable - perhaps the most dangerous Weizenbock I’ve yet drunk (this is the eleventh). Dry, wheaten aftertaste. Not as aggressive or boozy as Aventinus; I’d take the Eisenbahn any day. Impressively well-crafted and representative of all the good things this style has to offer!
