| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Mahogany colored body under a fizzy non-head. Aroma is fruity and malted with berries, cherries and grapes along with both pale and caramel malt, a little earthy. Banana notes show up in the flavor along with fruity white wine and a splash of whisky before a mild, earthen coffee bitterness. Smooth, semi-full body, a little flat with a touch of chalkiness. Alcohol lingers with grape notes. Glancing down at a couple reviews it seems like this changed character after cellaring for 2 years. ~~~~~~~~~~ 12 oz. bottle from Cornfield, May 2007, consumed September 2009. Batch #10. notalush (2668), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2009 Lightly hazy dark reddish brown - minimal lacing - nose of dough, bread pudding, dates, a light earthy, mustiness, moderate phenols, black cherry, even a mild vinous character - the flavor is a little less interesting - fairly sugary sweet, with some tangy, earthy wheat - moderate clove phenols - some chocolate, date, raisin, and fig - most of this character takes a back seat to sugary sweetness, though - the date and raisin shine through in the finish - I like my weizenbocks a bit less sweet, with a stronger wheat influence, so this doesn’t really do it for me as much as it should- decent, though. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2009 An aroma of dark malted grains, but the aroma is rather faint. The appearance is a very dark clouded brown, with no head even from the initial pour. The flavor is a very nice combination of that dark roasted malt (thin on roast), typical wheat yeast cultures (that typical bubblegum and banana tastes), and some complimentary spice. Vigorosa has a very roasty hang on, and a nice soft feel overall. dmac (1466), Toms River, New Jersey, USA

Pours a dark murky muddy reddish brown with a small foamy beige head. Aroma ia very sweet with lots of raisin, plum and prunes, wet wheat, raisin toast nad brown bread. Body is smoth drinking with a medium mouthfeel and bubbly slightly carbonation and a rather dry finsih especially considering the very sweet aroma. Flavors of lightly buttered raisin brown toast, wheat, nutts, dark fruits and even more raisin. Really nice and very well done but the carbonation needs to settle down on this one just a bit. gam (1103), brisbane, Australia
