| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2009 Pours a slight hazed warm ruddy brown with a dense generous light tan head, diminishing quickly. The nose is exactly what I imagine a weizenbock should be: malty, banana-y esters, and some dark malt character. A bit creamy and slightly roasty. Low carbonation, but yet a full, substantial body. The flavors are in line with the nose: sweet malt, banana-y esters (with a fair amount of cloves too), and some significant dark malt character. Alcohol pops through, though absent from the nose. Again, a bit of roast, again creamy. Lingering astringent to roasty finish with alcohol at the back end. Not a bad beer, not knocking my socks off, but not bad. I’m a softy for the style though. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 8, 2009 Caramel color with a nice 2 finger tan head. Aroma is not big and is malty with roasted notes, chocolate, and a bit of coffee. This is a straightforward beer that is full of caramel malt and iced coffee. Cloves and alcohol can also be tasted. Enjoyable. Beardface (1036), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 28, 2009 Light brown pour with a minute white head that wasn’t long for this world. Sweet caramel and clove aroma with a light smokiness. Caramelly flavor with some clove and some more light smoke. Another decent offering from this brewery. biggmike (480), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2009 This beer poured with a reddish-brown body with a fluffy white head that dissipated slowly. The aroma was of caramel, banana, and clove. The flavor was pretty much the same with some chocolate also coming through. This tasted similar to an Aventinus to me, but the alcohol was more present in the taste than an Aventinus. Decent, but needs a little more refining.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 7, 2009 Ah, my favorite style. Batch #05. Deep purple label. 12oz, twist-off, amber colored bottle. Pours an ideal color of a purple hued brown. Creamy white head. Everything about this beer is small in scale to the nose. Oh, the smells coming out of this glass. Huge yeasty banana, heavenly clove. Flavor is not really what I was looking for. Lots of roasted malt, puffed wheat, and sweet raisin. Nice grain and yeast complexities. Finishes with a citric sourness and caramelized malt kick. A bit more roast than I expected Its no Aventinus, but still really good. Alcohol is very well hidden. medium body, finishes dry. Great beer for paring with food, maybe duck with dumplings and red cabbage sounds good. I enjoyed this one. Ungstrup (15436), Frederiksberg, Denmark
