JorisPPattyn (4642), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 2, 2007 Very pale yellow-gold, well carbonated to a flimsy white head. Cocos, very markedly, coconutjuice, tinge of lime or lemon added... Smells like some tin can from a Thai supermarket shelf. Maybe some grain... peculiar nose. Taste: AAAGHH! Now they’ve added shrimp to the cocos juice... This is weird beyond belief. Must have been brewed in a wok, instead of a Südpfanne. Milky, certainly, milkripe grain. The salty shrimp flavour diminishes gradually without really disappearing. Mineral water quality, force-carbonated. Very light body. In the aftertaste I get what SilkTork got: rubber. Dubious beer, strange as people. MoritzF (4019), Ruhrpott, Germany Aug 7, 2006 (Draught) Clear and pale yellow colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Sweet malty aroma with cake dough and a dense note of herbal hops. Sweetbitter flavour, light to medium bodied, crispy mouthfeel. Initially sweet malty taste, slightly grainy, slightly acidic, moderately dry finish. Drinkable but boring Bavarian Helles. joss (3249), Garching b. München, Germany Aug 6, 2006 Bottle. Golden, low head. Moderately fresh Hallertauer hops. Grainy malt balanced with light grassy hops.
Medium body. Overall a average Helles. Ungstrup (11711), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 22, 2005 A yellow beer with a huge head. The aroma is sweet hoppy with hint of hay as well. The flavor is sweet with notes of hay and grass leading to a hoppy end. The body is thin. A boring Helles. chriso (4420), London, Greater London, England Aug 26, 2004 Very pale straw colour. The aroma and flavour has a touch of floral hop, but is mainly biscuity malt. I couldn’t detect any figs whatsoever. An acceptable German lager, but rather dull. Draught at GBBF 2004.
