Commercial Description:
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

Bottle at Kulminator, Antwerp. Pours clear amber with at frothy white head. Heavy malty aroma with some caramel. Great sweet malty flavour with lots of caramel and rye bread. Strong alcoholic finish.

Gave off an aroma of sweet maple and gave off a similar taste. It had a somewhat upfront alcohol palate. Nice amber color and left a nice lacing in the glass...almost like a fine wine. Recommended for those looking for something new.

Holy crap. Got this because I liked their Eisbock....didnt realize what i was getting into. 11%, but actually hides it pretty well. It’s a lot like a good scotch or sherry. It packs a punch but it’s really good. The aroma was not that great, thank goodness the flavor was pretty different from that. It smelled like it would be too sweet, and kind of gross. It wasn’t at all though...another good Eisbock down!

Exquisit one, I was very dizzy at the end of it but I liked it very much. It is dark and very alcoholic, with good head.

Very bold flavor smells like a fruity alcoholic syrup. Can taste the bite of high alcohol content, but the intense smell and flavor help cover it. Takes a few sips to adjust to such a different flavor, but at the end your feeling good and wanting more.

THOUGHTS: Had been waiting to try this beer for years, but couldn’t see paying over $20 for a 6 pack , but I finally found a single bottle for sale. It’s mostly just a bunch of alcohol, but it’s also full of flavors, so it’s not that bad, but not great either. A lot like Samichlaus, just not as good. Very liquor-like. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark amber with small to medium body particles of a thin density and an average-sized, off white head that mostly lasted and left good lacing. The aroma was heavy caramel, lost of alcohol, citrus, some fruitiness and whiskey notes. The initial flavor was moderately sweet; while the finish was heavily sweet and light to moderately bitter with an average duration. There was whiskey, caramel malt, citrus and then a little metallic hops with slight smoke too. The medium to full body was oily and a little syrupy with fizzy carbonation and a moderate to heavy alcoholic finish.

(GERMANY) Pours a nice amber / orange color with zero head. Has a flowery / alcohol aroma with a lingering fizzy body. The taste is strong, With malty, alcohol flavor and some hints of honey. The finish goes down very warm !!! Plus watch out for the 11% it could knock you for a loop. :)
