jeverszeuge (182), Germany Aug 23, 2007 formaly known as "kulminator" and named "terminator". copper-coloured, nearly headless. smells of alcohol. oily start. malty and alcoholic. ends up with dry hops and - still - disturbing alcoholic aromes. not my stuff. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Aug 20, 2007 Sampled at the seattle International Beer Festival and enjoyed it quite a bit. Wish I could get my hands on a bottle in order to re-sample. My ratings reflect my appreciation of German beer in general. This is a deceptively strong beer, too, and when I do try it in greater quantity I am sure to note whether or not it can become cloying after more than a few sips. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA Aug 18, 2007 Pours a clear amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet with caramel, plums, raisons, and alcohol. Flavor starts off pretty light, not what i was expecting at all. Starts off sweet with caramel, raisons, and plums. Pretty strong finish with plenty of alcohol warming. Has a somewhat lingering flavor. Somewhat decent beer. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Aug 15, 2007 Rich aroma of dark fruit - raisins, plums. Dark sherry color (and I thought that before reading the description). The white head flattened immediately. Medium bodied. Creamy carbonation. A bit of heat. Lots of darkish fruits. Indeed it is in the fortified wine range for flavor, though not for alcohol. Consider that this has the alcohol of those high gravity lagers, but notice the quality of the flavors - relatively speaking. The finish is smooth, neither sweet nor dry. Ends with caramel. Very impressive. It could pass for a Belgian ale, with the right presentation. It took some effort: "Malt concentration was doubled or tripled (the exact formula still remains secret), giving the yeasts more fuel for conversion to alcohol. Above all, since stunned yeast can only work very slowly in the presence of high alcohol levels, this beer would have to be given a lot of time. In fact, it had to be fermented in cold storage for an unheard of nine months! " A work of the brewer’s art. chrismwpcs (72), South Hedland, Australia Aug 13, 2007 Dreadful. Too sweet, drinks like a treacle consistency. Dangerous brew, one for getting wasted on. Not much good for the social drinker. This is your binge drinkers beer. tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Aug 7, 2007 Bottle. Pours brilliant rusy amber with big beige head which falls eventually. The aroma is raisin, cinnamon, honey, and wood. The flavor begins with a sweet brown sugar and raisin taste, which gets gradually woodier with time. Some floral hops come through, as well, along with a tinge of alcohol that grows in the finish. Pretty good. KnutAlbert (3108), Oslo, Norway Aug 6, 2007 Brown, clear beer. Smells of sweet malt. Very vinous aroma, strong kick of alcohol. Flowery sweet, though there are hops here, too, avoiding a too cloying sweetness. Hint of sherry or port, some burned sugar.
