Commercial Description:
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

Pours a clear amber with a one finger head that receeds without leaving lacing. Nose has a lot of alcohol present I want to say just a touch of gingerbread maybe. Extremely sweet on the tongue - almost as if it were a dessert drink. Alcohol barely comes through at the end, but you can’t tell you are downing 11% on this one, which makes it dangerously drinkable. Mouthfeel is smooth but with a syrupy tone. You could drink a lot of these in one sitting I’d imagine. But just be sure to call a cab.

Bottle. Pours very slightly hazy ambery gold, thin off-white head. Nose is sweet and some plummy tones, stale wet wood, some glace cherries. Mouth is some plummy tones with a spirit burn as you swallow. Sweet and coating on the way down. Strength present. Alright, could be a lot better.

formaly known as "kulminator" and named "terminator". copper-coloured, nearly headless. smells of alcohol. oily start. malty and alcoholic. ends up with dry hops and - still - disturbing alcoholic aromes. not my stuff.

Sampled at the seattle International Beer Festival and enjoyed it quite a bit. Wish I could get my hands on a bottle in order to re-sample. My ratings reflect my appreciation of German beer in general. This is a deceptively strong beer, too, and when I do try it in greater quantity I am sure to note whether or not it can become cloying after more than a few sips.

Pours a clear amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet with caramel, plums, raisons, and alcohol. Flavor starts off pretty light, not what i was expecting at all. Starts off sweet with caramel, raisons, and plums. Pretty strong finish with plenty of alcohol warming. Has a somewhat lingering flavor. Somewhat decent beer.

Rich aroma of dark fruit - raisins, plums. Dark sherry color (and I thought that before reading the description). The white head flattened immediately. Medium bodied. Creamy carbonation. A bit of heat. Lots of darkish fruits. Indeed it is in the fortified wine range for flavor, though not for alcohol. Consider that this has the alcohol of those high gravity lagers, but notice the quality of the flavors - relatively speaking. The finish is smooth, neither sweet nor dry. Ends with caramel. Very impressive. It could pass for a Belgian ale, with the right presentation. It took some effort: "Malt concentration was doubled or tripled (the exact formula still remains secret), giving the yeasts more fuel for conversion to alcohol. Above all, since stunned yeast can only work very slowly in the presence of high alcohol levels, this beer would have to be given a lot of time. In fact, it had to be fermented in cold storage for an unheard of nine months! " A work of the brewer’s art.

Dreadful. Too sweet, drinks like a treacle consistency. Dangerous brew, one for getting wasted on. Not much good for the social drinker. This is your binge drinkers beer.
