yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 4, 2007 33 cL bottle. Pours clear amber with a fast disappearing slight orange head. Heavy sweet corn aroma. Full bodied. Sweet corn flavour, slight berry fruity. Slight burning alcohol feel, clearly warming finish. Very nice. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 1, 2007 Bottle shared by joebrew, pours a clear amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a swirling film top and some bottles on side. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, some toffee, plums and plenty of alcohol. Taste is slick/oily, medium to full bodied, with lots of sugary character of molasses, caramel syrup and corn syrup. Finish is very alcoholic strong and over the top sweet. I remember trying this back when I was 18 and was told this was the strongest beer ever made. Being nieve at the time thinking Pabst Blue Ribbon was what beer was supposed to taste like, I did not think much of EKU 28. Happy to say I know better today. cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Jul 30, 2007 Copper with quick dissolving head. Alcohol, sugar, pine, light sour touches, with warming syrupy grapefruits, apricots, pears dancing on a drying finish. There were notes of apples, grapes and honey in this aromatic and warming brew. This one is probably best for after dinner or before bed. The abv is high, and the alcohol is present, but fairly well integrated into the whole of the brew. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jul 26, 2007 12oz bottle. Aroma: Sweet lightly toasted malt, caramel, raisins, and some light alcohol. A touch of herbal hops as it warms. Appearance: Deep amber in color and clear. Light bone head is full and foamy with good retention. Good lacing. Flavor: Sweet maltiness with a light toasted note. Caramel, raisins, bread dough. Alcohol comes through strong. Some herbal/spice notes into the finish. Slightly syrupy finish. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: ’World class’? Don’t know about that, but this was a good beer. A bit syrupy, but with some nice flavors. daniele (1642), Italy Jul 24, 2007 giallo carico nettamente alcolica dolciastra a mio parere inbevibile di per se ma abbinata al ciccolato fondente alza di gran lunga la testa fozapd (33), Burlington, New Jersey, USA Jul 18, 2007 This one pours a very bubbly red/orange hue but a quickly fading head despite the carbination. The taste is decent, but based on the hype I had previous to acquiring this one it was not as good as advertised. A decent high octane brew, but I think there are better. It’s not too bad, but I can’t say it is anything more than an average to above average eisbock. wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Jul 11, 2007 $1.89 bottle from Tip Top. mistakingly though i was buying Kulmbacher Eisbock. Pours with a 1 finger white medium bubble head that quickly dies to nothing, leaving a tea-amber color. Aroma started off a tad skunky, but quickly became sort of a light malty milky tone. Carbonation is a little light, Taste has a noticable alchohol taste, good amount of sweetness, but some sour milk undertone. The sweetness sticks to the tongue a bit in the finish. Not very drinkable, so maybe I should lower my rating. I poured most of it out. gmcase (113), Indiana, USA Jul 8, 2007 bottle. Lots of flavors vanilla, caramel, spice, and hops. Somewhat sweet and very strong. Big flavor. Not an everyday brew but maybe in the right situation. Caught me by surprise.
