| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2007 Wrap-around-the face Madeira cake-drenched-in whiskey snout. Not as revolting as it sounds. Overripe plummy headiness. Muffling cotton wool dabbed in TCP. Nobody can hear you scream. Utterly headless after 2 swigs. Transparent amber stillness. Velvet caramel tangerine sweetness compensates. Nuts and wood. No syrup or burn whatsoever. Cakey but not at all cloying. Beers this potent are often numbingly dull and sugary, but this is a very pleasant exception. One of the best (non-Belgian) big-hitters I’ve encountered. lovemyipas (420), sw burbs, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Dark amber color with a port nose. Carmel mouth and very sweet malt. A surprisingly good brew. DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Clear amber-brown color. White head that diminishes almost immediately, leaving behind a few soapy bubbles. Sweet aroma of caramel, malts, plums, and raisins. Intense, rich flavors of sweet malts, dried fruits (plums, dates, raisins), caramel, sugar, and alcohol. Dense, syrupy mouthfeel. This one should be consumed slowly. joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 23, 2007 Pours a clear dark amber. Nice banana and port nose with hints of smoke as well as butter rum. Nice powerful mouthfeel with hints of toffee, nuts, raisens, chocolate, and pure brown sugar malt sweetness. A very nice beer that is very underappreciated. iep (229), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2007 Dark transparant orange/copper with a small head. Sweet and malty aroma; toffee, caramel, sweet cookie-dough, port, candy sugar, alcohol, raisins. The taste was also dominated by the malt, very sweet & full-bodied, with enjoyable roasted malt notes. Medium/long finish. Large and thick mouthfeel, almost cloying from the sweet full-bodiedness, medium/light carbonation. Tasty. Poperinge (359), Cowtown, Alberta, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2007 At a 11% this seems more like a tangerine cough syrup than a beer. Kulmbacker makes a better Eisbock than this one. Page 155 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide only 413 out 500 Classic Brews to go.
