Commercial Description:
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

Wow! Talk about a Malt Monster! On tap at Über in Seattle into an EKU 28 style tall snifter glass. Pours a deep to light reddish orange hue with a tiny white head that quickly dissappears. The aroma is 100% sweet malt for the most part. There is some brown sugary tones in there somewhere, but really is over taken by a huge malt factor. The flavor is like a malty syrup that coats the palate, tasting first of that huge sweet malt you smell on the nose, mixed with raisins, brown sugars, and dark fruits...and again everything gets overtaken by malt! Once this malt sweep happens, a very "in-your-face" alcohol flavor sweeps over the mouth, definitely being able to feel the burn on the way down. I think you’ve got to be into this sort of this, and sometimes it done a lot better than this, but I kind of liked it! Didn’t know the EKU 28 was an Eisbock until I read here, but I can totally see that now. Overall, not the best Eisbock ever, but definitely a strong malt madman if you’re looking for one.

[tap @ Bukowski’s] Dark brown/amber color- not much of a head (or bubbles) at all. Aroma of raspberry candy, yeast, caramel. Ultra-sweet, syrupy malt flavors. Not bad, but not really balanced at all. A bit too heavy on the alcohol end of things for me.

Slighty nutty and a bit spicey with loads of caramel and toffee in the nose; dissipating head; licorice and brown sugar, almost cloying sweetness; tart and woody finish; dead, viscous body.

aroma is as says on bottle and description of a heavy wine. the look of the beer is a little bland, it tastes a little gross and I would have to say the best part of this brew is the alchol that it contains

Can courtesy of Piscator34: Poured a deep burgundy color beer with a small off-white foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of sweet cookie dough with some dry plums was very interesting and enjoyable. Some sweet cookie malt with some plums and dry figs characteristics, which made this very enjoyable, also dominated taste. Body is a bit light and alcohol was not overly pronounced. Not exactly sure why this is getting such low ratings – I though it was a well craft eisbock.

Slightly dark colour, malt aroma. Bit of crowning white head. Little bitterness.I found this more malty drinkable than the Austrian eisbocks, although still an egg yolk taste in it. Surprisingly high alcohol content that was well hidden. Thanks Biegaman.
