Soft caramel aroma with a good shot of alcohol. Nice legs up the size of the glass. Plenty of malts and a hint of squash. Color is a a bright copper. Thick and rich flavor with loads of caramel and malts. Delicious. Very soft mouthfeel and a big alcohol kick. So smooth going down. Finish is creamy and very warming from the alcohol. Damn I like these Eisbocks. A great sipping brew. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma is malty and sweet with a little bit of fruitiness. Malty sweet flavor. Some dark fruitiness as well. Some roasted maltiness in the finish. Alcohol is not too noticable. Enjoyable brew. Musy, stewed fruit and malt aroma has an edge of cherry liquer to it. The body is a transparent orange/amber and the thumb thick white, diminishes rapidly. Dry fore is malt laden with fruit notes on the edges and a sort of toasty, spent grainy flavor. Alcohol and very faint maple and caramel notes make up the finish. I really hated this the first time I had it a year or so ago, but I find it much more palatable. I’ve also learned that it isn’t really an Eisbock just a very strong lager.

I have only had a few eisbocks, but this is the first I did not like. Way too present alcohol made it undrinkable. And what flavors there are a kinda malt/caramel sweetness are buried in that alcohol. If there was an Avery label on this I’d totally believe it was an Avery beer. A lot of these two in the flavor as well, and the alcohol presence is not disguised as well as others of this magnitude. Not too crazy about this one. BillKismet (1903), Seattle, Washington, USA

Hearty alcoholic malt aroma that reappears in the flavor. A great, warming , heavy on the palate, winter beer. Like a fine, malty wine. GonZoBeeR (2157), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

The odor is the same. Second and third swigs did not improve my feelings. Very disappointed. I let the drain sample the rest.
