| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 1, 2004 A very cloying orange coloured beer. Little carbonation. Loads of sweet malt flavors, with a slight burnt character. A strong alcoholic kick on the finish. Not really my style at all. Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2004 Copper. Bursting aroma of apples, toffee, band-aid, caramel, burnt popcorn kernels, herbs and sweet deep malt. Flavor begins with a variety of dark fruits (plums, apples). The mid-palate is pretty non-existant but does possess a subtle note of sherry. The finish is very pleasant and contains notes of burnt butter toffee, alcohol and dark fruits. A nice beer with a well hidden alcohol but lacking body, in a serious way. Nonetheless, a serious beer that seems to be a little underated to me. I enjoyed this. jtw (944), farmington, Michigan, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 24, 2004 essentially no head, very low carbonation. sweet malty alcohol aroma, sweet malty alcohol body. not particularly complex, in fact not much here besides caramel malts and alcohol--maybe somes pineappley notes. label says not cloying; i disagree. uck. like drinking a liqueur than a beer. kwoeltje (1334), Manchester, Missouri, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2004 Very strong beer with a warmgolden amber color and a X.O. cognac shine. Very strong and alcoholic aroma’s with a hint of Rum soaked fruit and X-Mas pudding Londen style. Nice maly accent and touch of butter caramel. The taste is very rich and warm with notes of dried fruits, butter toffee, caramel, malts and again old X.O cognac. You need to take some time to taste this one. It has a super full taste, it is very complex and it is ending with a strong alcohol burn. It just lacks loads of freshness. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 16, 2004 Pours an airy off-white head on a clear copper colored body. Typical eisbock aroma, sweet and caramelly and alcoholic. Flavor is dominated by a cloying sweetness. Fruit, malt and caramel and a warming tone of alcohol. Definately not my kind of beer. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
