aobecksy (661), Middle of no where, Ohio, USA Dec 16, 2003 Nutty maltiness in aroma and sweet stickiness in texture; over powering alcohol sensation saves it for those who like scotch! JasonG (700), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Dec 16, 2003 Orange color, clear, no head at all. Aroma has orange citrus notes, slightly sweet. Flavor is very very sweet, though not as syrupy of a mouthfeel as other extremely sweet beers. Overall it's just alright. goz (359), Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA Dec 7, 2003 Pours a clear brilliant red, with a medium tan head that quickly diminishes to a small ring, lace is non-existent. Aroma is mainly alcohol, somewhat whiskey-like, some maple syrup, slightly buttery. Flavor is cloying sweetness colbbered by over the top alcohol. This basically reminded me of alcoholic syrup or something, not all that enjoyable. maltdog (509), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Dec 5, 2003 Color the brilliant amber of glowing embers. Fast beige head. Enticing sweet aromas of raisin, chewy toffee candies, tawny port, citrus. Conflicting flavors clash with the nose. Odd mix of nutty caramel, orange, marshmellow, peppery hop, gingery spice, and a weird flash of mint. Not overly sweet. Rather clean finish, hot, bittersweet, and piney. bender (293), Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA Nov 30, 2003 Light brown to almost red body. No head and no lacing.
Simple aroma of malt with some hint of the alcohol.
Slightly sweet flavor with some malt. Alcohol is well hidden but beer is slightly oxidized.
Full bodied and smooth.
SirTom (85), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Nov 27, 2003 The label no longer translates "the strongest beer in the world," now it's just "one of the world's strongest beers." Ok, so maybe it's supposed to be a bit of a novelty beer. It's high alcohol, with flavours of nothing but malt and alcohol. Fun, if that's what you want. Good? Not very. Silphium (2114), Haslett, Michigan, USA Nov 12, 2003 Strong caramel and mustiness on the aroma of this copper-bodied brew. Flavor is much the same- caramel and musty malts, with a light fruity essence. Alcohol is surprisingly subdued, but this beer is not too interesting regardless of its strength. jaymobrown (1343), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 11, 2003 Look of a tarnished golden hue of morning's first light. Effervescent glow of radiant golden dew. Nose of caramel walnuts roasted on an open fire. Medicinal fumes of a dentist office. Smooth alcohol taste.
