DrSamPHD (60), Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA Oct 20, 2008 Pours a transparent amber-red, appearance is very appealing. Fruity aroma, cherry, yeast and sweet malts coming through. Strong alcoholic sweetness in the taste with just a bit of bitterness in the end. I will be drinking this one slowly. Good beer. Umoyk (12), , Mexico Oct 13, 2008 The taste of this beer is very strong and very sweet. It has a full body and great aroma. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Oct 8, 2008 Bottle from circle liquors before it was bought out. Amber body with a two finger head. Lots of sugar cane, etoh, vinous thanks to the fruity nature of this beer. Bubblegum and plum. A solid beer. BelgianBeerGal (1273), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 4, 2008 Draught. Honestly a fairly nice eisbock. Poured a still copper colout with no real head. Big aroma of caramel and molassas plus a little alcohol. Huge caramel flavour plus some more sweetness from brown sugar. Finishes with some alcohol warmth. I thought it was very enjoyable. golubj (1275), Sunnyvale, California, USA Sep 27, 2008 bottle thanks to bitbucket. caramel pour with some off white head. aroma is intensly sweet malt, bubblegum like, somewhat fruity, and still a tad grainy. flavor is exactly the same with a small malt / alcohol bite. it really reminds me of the huge budweiser private reserve that i had around christmas a couple years back. OleR (2007), Oslo, Norway Sep 23, 2008 Bottled@EBF 2008. Brilliant deep amber color, virtually no head. The aroma has a soft, delicate sweet and nutty malt profile, lots of ripe fruits and a noticeable, but inoffensive alcohol scent. Taste is vinous, gently sweet, full malty with a plummy fruitiness. Notes of mild bittering hops, molasses and port. Chewy mouthfeel. Full-bodied. A pleasant alcohol heat in the finish. Powerful and balanced. A treat. gerardoluna (195), Mexico Sep 17, 2008 [Eyes] Pours perfect amber. Great!. white head doesn’t last long.
[Nose] Caramel, Malty, cereal, full bodied, alcohol in deep...
[Mouth] Thick, full bodied, alcoho, and caramel in deep. The finish and Aftertaste is very malty sweet. JCB (1713), Durham, North Carolina, USA Sep 16, 2008 11.2 oz from my departmental picnic - thanks, John! Been a while since I’ve had this. Rich, full bodied, and very sweet, it’s got heavy carbonation to keep things from getting to syrupy and to mask the alkie burn just a bit. Lots and lots of caramel malts tend to mask some of the distinctiveness of the eisbock style, but it’s certainly a fairly pleasant rendtion.
