| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Sampled at the seattle International Beer Festival and enjoyed it quite a bit. Wish I could get my hands on a bottle in order to re-sample. My ratings reflect my appreciation of German beer in general. This is a deceptively strong beer, too, and when I do try it in greater quantity I am sure to note whether or not it can become cloying after more than a few sips. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2005 33 cl bottle. Light brown colour with a biege head. Very sweet of malt both in tha aroma and the taste. Ends up with a warm feeling. No yeast en bottom. Fast disappearing foam. Some sweet caramel aftertaste. notalush (2664), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2003 Strawberry-blonde appearance, with an aroma of strawberries and alcohol, but no head what-so-ever. Strawberries in the flavor as well, nice maltiness - the sherry-like qualities are very evident. The alcohol comes through a little too much in the finish, drowning out the otherwise pleasant flavors of the beer. For my first eisbock, this is a mostly pleasant experience. nick76 (2657), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Aug 12, 2006 The aroma has raisins, brown sugar, paper, cereal malt and alcohol. The appearance is light red brown (like the picture) with a small head (nothing like the picture). The flavor is very sweet with a moderate amount of bitterness. The alcohol is present from start to finish and warms the throat. The palate is sticky. The alcohol is a bit too strong for me but isn’t that the point of an Eisbock? | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 8, 2002 The beer pours a pellucid amber color, the head mountainous and beige, chunky lace both desiccate way to quickly. Nose is fusel alcohol, caramel, malt, molasses like. Front is malt, the top full, the finish is vigorously acidic, authoritatively hopped, dry aftertaste. Well ’Sports Fans’, I can see why most won’t like this beer, the ’Alcohol is OVERPOWERING’. To say that it is robust, would be an understatement, and most assuredly not meant for everyone. I like it, as with Belzebuth (15%), something I’d only drink when I need to restart my heart. Ranks #430 on my current 1000 beer master list. Aurelius (2648), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 18, 2004 Smells like peach pie. Orange brew, little head, decent label. It is indeed like sherry. Vanilla, alcohol bitter, almost salty on the front of the tongue, very warming, lots of bock/barleywine sort of character. Very smooth for a beer that has the kick that it has, the finish is very quick and a bit nutty. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 16, 2004 Pours an airy off-white head on a clear copper colored body. Typical eisbock aroma, sweet and caramelly and alcoholic. Flavor is dominated by a cloying sweetness. Fruit, malt and caramel and a warming tone of alcohol. Definately not my kind of beer.
