Starts very malty, very strong, quite alcoholic. The alcoholic note remains till the finish. Bit earty, fiery-warming finish. Not bad! mar (1842), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2009 Bottle thanks to my brother. Amber with no head. Nose is fruity with notes of sherry and raisins. Thick like syrup and the sherry flavor really shines with a very smooth balance between the malts. thegreenrooster (1835), St.louis, Missouri, USA

Lots of brown sugar in the flavor so much so it takes over the flavor. overall its ok. try an drink it on an empty belly.,as it is very heavy. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2009 33 cl. Clear copper-orange with a lasting film of creamy foam. Nose of corn, grass and molasses. Flavor is caramel, grain, hay, peppery wood and cherry liqueur. Near-medium body is smooth, alcohol-dried and chest-warming. Give this one a chance; it gets better the further you delve. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA

Aroma is sweet, burnt candy sweet, toasted powder sugar sweet with mixed floral and wood notes. Flavor is also sweet with lots of alcohol evident, somewhat burning - like a liquier and contrary to their commercial description, somewhat cloying. Full bodied and no carbonation. Definitely a unique brew, but not my favorite style. RAYBOY01 (1830), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Sep 7, 2005 Very tough to finish this one...sickly sweet and sticky in a bock kind of way, but without the fruity/malty/hoppy balance of a good bock. Alcohol just makes it harder to finish. Did not enjoy this at all. berkshirejohn (1819), Bracknell, Berkshire, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 28, 2009 33cl bottle from a Leclerc in Colombes, Paris. Gold with a ring of white head; intense aroma of dried fruit - dates, prunes, raisins, apples and pears; the mouth feel is that of a dessert wine, cloyingly sweet, with apricot and marzipan flavours; warming spirit-like finish, reminding me of Calvados or a fruity Speyside malt whisky. A beer to sip very slowly and enjoy. Dorwart (1814), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA

Soft caramel aroma with a good shot of alcohol. Nice legs up the size of the glass. Plenty of malts and a hint of squash. Color is a a bright copper. Thick and rich flavor with loads of caramel and malts. Delicious. Very soft mouthfeel and a big alcohol kick. So smooth going down. Finish is creamy and very warming from the alcohol. Damn I like these Eisbocks. A great sipping brew.
