Tangy alcohol aromas. Sticky, sweet honey but almost crisp with a medium lasting hop to alcohol burn back to honey finish. Great apertif -- 11.2 oz could probably be shared. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Sample from a bottle thanks to BeerHawk. Lightly red-orange with a light off white ring. Aroma of brown sugar. Taste is just pure brown sugar, very very sweet. Rich, full bodied, and very sweet, it’s got heavy carbonation to keep things from getting to syrupy and to mask the alkie burn just a bit. Lots and lots of caramel malts tend to mask some of the distinctiveness of the eisbock style, but it’s certainly a fairly pleasant rendtion. sunevdj (1784), Copenhagen OE, Denmark

Quite sweet and sugary. Slightly bready. Very full bodied. Dry, sweet and alcoholic finish. rudolf (1783), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 8, 2004 Raisin malt aroma, very sweet. Head quickly disappears. This beer punches you in the tounge. Super malty, alcohol, grapes, sweet port. Geez. I could see savoring a bottle of this on a cold winter day. tjthresh (1779), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2005 Aroma is rather un inspiring. Yeah, its big and maly. I get a lot of alcohol too. Appearance is fine. Poured amber/orange with a completly disapating head. Maybe a dark cherry with some toastyness. Bitterness comes out good. Kind of slick across the tounge. Alcohol makes it pretty thin.
I would have expected more from a beer with MJ’s recomendation right on the bottle.
