| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2006 bottle. Pours an amber color with minimal head. The aroma is sweet like caramlized sugar. This brew definitely walks the line of being too sweet, but doesn’t quite become excessive. The caramelly sweetness is thick and sticky. The finishes is semi earthy and brings out slight notes of bark. Pretty straight forward brew here, drinkable enough. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Mar 15, 2005 Bartender warned me about this beer but tried it anyway. To me this taste like a pound of sugar inside a 12oz bottle, and for the most part I like the sweeter beers. This was just way too much though. wetherel (1641), Encinitas, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 11, 2007 $1.89 bottle from Tip Top. mistakingly though i was buying Kulmbacher Eisbock. Pours with a 1 finger white medium bubble head that quickly dies to nothing, leaving a tea-amber color. Aroma started off a tad skunky, but quickly became sort of a light malty milky tone. Carbonation is a little light, Taste has a noticable alchohol taste, good amount of sweetness, but some sour milk undertone. The sweetness sticks to the tongue a bit in the finish. Not very drinkable, so maybe I should lower my rating. I poured most of it out. jason (1627), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 6, 2007 Bottle. Poured a red hazy body with decent size head. Aroma was very sweet malty. Flavor was sweet also with a nice kick to it. Alcohol level very lightly detected, smooth for the style. jerohen (1615), Bussum, Netherlands
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 7, 2005 One of the two styles that are still lacking in my beer list: Eisbock. Amber coloured. Malty aroma with rye. Pretty sweet brew, and the alcohol isn’t even that obvious. And so now i only have to drink a cream ale... TURDFERGUSON (1609), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 8, 2007 so here we are. the old ’malt bomb.’ thats what they used to call this beer at the moan and dove. maybe thay still do. I had do drink it then when I was doing my ’list.’ and I remember it being much more powerful than this that I am sipping on tonight. Pours a golden amber with a thin white head. Nose of apple juice, cotton candy, ground black pepper and alcohol. Flavor is sweet and malty, as would be expected, but not as "in yo face mo fo" as I expected. Just kind blah, which is rare for an eisbock. Lightly syruppy mouthfeel. Doggythedog (1601), Split, Croatia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 24, 2006 0.33l bottle purchased at some Spar in Graz. Poured a beautiful red colour with a tiny beige head that vanished immediately. The nose is jam, alcohol and caramel. The taste is quite similar to that of Samichlaus, as complex but maybe less enjoyable. Alcohol, malt, jam, orange, vitamins, caramel, some hopiness and alcohol burn in the aftertaste. Felt as strong or even stronger than Samichlaus. Compared to the other eisbock I’ve had recently, Aventinus Weizen-Eisbock, this isn’t all that good. That was extremely tasty and enjoyable and this barely palatable compared to this. I can respect it, but now I understand why this is rated so low. TheBeerOrg (1591), Kentucky, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 30, 2006 Pours a deep reddish amber with a fully receding tan head. Aroma of rich caramel, toffee, vinous malt, plums, and alcohol. Taste is sweet and sticky with a tinge of spicy alcohol on the nose. Notes of toffee, earthy malts, wood, and phenols. Mouthfeel is heavy with lively carbonation. Good, but not as enjoyable as the Aventinus Eisbock. A bit too sweet and one-dimensional.
