Copper body with a nice head. Full palate. Heavy malt, some more malt, and a little bit of heat after that. Pretty one-dimensional, but nice flavor. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Golden orange amber colour with a diminishing off-white head. Orange, citrus, and toffee aroma. Molasses, toffee, orange peel, nutty, and leafy flavours. Medium to full bodied, chewy mouthfeel. Surprised to see this is an Eisbock, and surprised to see it rated this low. porterhouse (1156), Alna, Maine, USA

Hot vanilla sweetness...Pours clear slightly reddish orange with one finger of biege head. Nose is sweet sugar-candy malt. Palate is smooth and syrupy. Taste is quite hot, lots of vanilla and sugar candy sweetness. Like drinking a hot liquer. I like this style but this one I wouldn’t recommend. Kåstå (1149), Mol, Belgium

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2009 first whiff is of barley and light alcohol, aroma travels well, sweet sugar, and some grassy wheat elements. pleasant and hints at a strong sweet flavor. taste matches that with a burst from the alcohol and jam packed sugaryness. My pour lacked much staying power in the head, but it was bubbly and a orangeish brown hue. palate is a little hot from the ABV, carbonated. Overall, it’s got a lot of good parts and nothing really bad, but the combination of bubbles and alcohol puts me off a bit. It gets a bit better as it airs out but also acquires a more liquor like personality.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2003 This is basically an after dinner liquor. It’s not a beer you would ever want to buy a 6 pack of, unless you were having a dinner party, I bet this beer be tasty over vanilla ice- cream. This beer has a heavy, rich, molasses like palate. This Eisbok has a sweet dramatic honey, caramel, and alcohol flavor and nose. A very enjoyable beer if you are ready for a strikingly heavy and sweet beer. Garrat (1132), Suffolk, England
