Nov 19, 2006 12 OZ bottle via LIQUID sOLUTIONS. Pours a crystal clear amber with a large beige head. Aroma is very mellow with mostly just vanilla and toffee and perhaps some fruity melon. Wow this is sweet tasting...cloying...starts with a LOT of molasses, then some cherries, vanilla, raisins, and ends about as sweet as it started. Thin bodied. Some rummy alcohol present in the finish.Moderate to high carbonation. Not bad but would be better with more body and if it was not filtered.

Jan 8, 2006 Bottle Peg Leg Pub St Maarten. Pours out a deep brown color with a slight frothy head. Aroma is sweet and malty. The taste is pretty much all malts, with some notes of alcohol, and sugar with a few notes of alcohol, but not as much as would be expected.

Feb 13, 2009 bottle. Copper pour, with a small white head. Slightly sweet fruity aroma. Sweet flavor as well, a little boozy as well. Pretty good.

May 27, 2006 served from an 11.2 oz brown bottle, liked the packaging on this one : simple yet elegant.
Dark amber coloured beer, very large bubbly/creamy tan head which i thought unusual for this alcohol volume..but it looked cool.
Sweet aromas of ripe red apples and sweet bing cherries, stronger sherry like tones also picked up..quite complex.
Quite a bitter/sweet taste, both clash early but somehow it works. This does taste a little like a good sweet sherry and of cherries. The alcohol is noticable but not ugly. Semi dry/woody finish. Long lasting and pleasurable after tastes.
Pretty nice on the palate, smooth with low carbonation make this an ideal "sipper".
Drinkable? yes but not one that is gonna be a session beer LOL. Just a nice after dinner cold weather dessert beer, which I found I liked. unlike most here apparently!!

May 16, 2004 Glassy brandy color with no consistent head. Aroma contains notes of grape, gum, and the standard flowery side. Well difined palate as it is crisp at first but follows through with an oily feel with the alcohol. Flavor isn’t much to write home about, but it does make for an enjoyable beer (but that might just be the 11% talking.)

Sep 26, 2009 Bottle 0,33ltr: Clear amber coloured brew with warming abbilities. Pretty sweet with some hints of caramel. An classic.

Mar 2, 2002 A had a few of these last summer and I don’t remember what happened the rest of the night! Seriously, pleasant aroma, very sweet going down and aftertaste.

Feb 6, 2006 thanks to Saarlander for the bott;e. copper in color with a tan head which faded very fast, no lace. rich sweet malt nose. flavor reminds me of an apple brandy. a good beer for a cold winters night.
