The taste is liquric too, alcoholic, but it doesn’t hurt my palate. Flavour of raisins, honey, some tart and dry aftertaste. Syrupy beer warms me up...Hard one. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 6, 2004 Clear copper liquid with almost no head. Aroma is sweet and a hint of malt with a evident Alcohol aspect. Taste is sweet with some intersting side notes of grape juice. Body is thick and pretty syrupy. Finish is pretty clean. Alcohol content warms all the way down. Capa (988), Yokosuka, Japan
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 26, 2007 Clear orange in color with minimal white head. Sweet caramelized aroma with fruits, apricots, burnt sugar, and a touch of alcohol. Thick body. This is almost a delicious beer. Carmalized malts, sugar, apricots, and alcohol. The alcohol is too intense, burning like a shot of vodka. The finish is mostly sweet alcohol. I was initially intrigued and excited by the flavor untill the alcohol kicked in. I generally enjoy big, intense beers. But I would have liked a more mellow, well blended beer. Still, on a cold winters night this would be a fine beer to have. matt7215 (979), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

Sapore follemente sbilanciato sul dolce, con complessità di miele e chiodi di garofano; una birra commerciale estremamente coraggiosa e, anche solo per questo, apprezzabile; se poi ci aggiungiamo che non è niente male, allora siamo a posto.__________________________ENGLISH TEXT HERE________Very particular and - in its own special way - inimitable, EKU 28 has been the spot of countless critics due to its high alcohol percentage and to its incredibile sweetness; anyway, it’s very far from a ’alcohol teens’ beverage. In fact it’s a very ’difficult’ brew, which doesn’t look in the eye the everyday consumer and doesn’t care for the expert’s taste and maybe that’s why it catches the attention of both worlds. Appearance is amber/dark red, with short lasting little head; aroma is very sweet: malt, malt malt, malt, malt, malt, malt and then... malt! Flavor is madly unbalanced, with complexity of honey and cloves; an extremely daring ’commercial’ beer and - even just for this fact - very enjoyable; if you add that it’s not bad at all, then you have the sum of the parts. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2005 Malty sweet aroma with choclatey undertones. Taste was same, well rounded, and nicely hid the huge alcohol (contrary to what others have found). Minimal aftertaste, also. (12oz/$3) urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2007 Pours a clear amber with a one finger head that receeds without leaving lacing. Nose has a lot of alcohol present I want to say just a touch of gingerbread maybe. Extremely sweet on the tongue - almost as if it were a dessert drink. Alcohol barely comes through at the end, but you can’t tell you are downing 11% on this one, which makes it dangerously drinkable. Mouthfeel is smooth but with a syrupy tone. You could drink a lot of these in one sitting I’d imagine. But just be sure to call a cab.
