Apple cider in the aroma, quite dry with a sugary sweet flavor of orange, and grapes. Warms the back of the tongue like a good distilled spirit. yngwie (4970), Kristiansand, Norway

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 16, 2005 (bottle) Clear amber colour with a small creamy white head. Sweet malty and fruity nose with hints of alcohol. Intense sweet flavour. Toastmalty taste with dried fruits and caramel and an alcoholic slightly hopbitter finish. Definitely not bad but it probably tastes better on a cold winter evening. Cornfield (4945), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 10, 2004 After pouring, the head disappeared before I could note its color. The beer’s coloring was a pleasant orange/amber, but the accompanying aroma was a bit too sweet for me. This sweetness carried through too heavily in the taste, almost overriding the malt, and clung to the back of my throat long after most had splashed into my belly. It was warming, all right. The alcohol taste was a tad too strong, reminding me more of the old days when we used to drop a shotglass of bourbon into our steins than it did of even a barley wine. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 29, 2003 Bright orange copper color with a fleeting off white head. Sweet fruit, (oranges, cherries and peaches) malt and ruber aroma. Wafts of alcohol. Oily texture with early sweetness that turns to a lacquer alcohol finish that burns in the mouth. Finish is just too biting and thin (like a shot of jaegemeister) to make this one more enjoyable. jbrus (4872), Delft, Netherlands
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 4, 2002 When I started drinking beer I almost immediatly switched to the specialties instead of pilsener. Eku 28 was one of the first and back than I thought it was awfull. To heavy for a 16 year old. Today (18 years later)was the second time. And this time it was not so bad. But still ... I don’t really like it. The aroma is port and fruit but that is not how a fresh beer should smell. It has to age to become like port. It’s amber-orange coloured with few head that disappears quickly. Very sweet and thick, alcohol combined with malts and fruits like over mature peach. The finish is malty with some alcohol bitterness and it lasts quite a while. BückDich (4848), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 26, 2003 Golden alcohol appearance, no head or lacing. Very bocky aroma with presence of alcohol, aroma has hints of blueberry pancakes I think. Flavor is full of sugery fruit flavors with that cherry bock background, flavor is alcoholic as well. This isn't that bad, I think a little underrated for it's flavor. Tmoney99 (4748), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
