| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 7, 2004 Nutty brown with hints of red and not much head. Aromas are sweet, syrupy and laced with all that alcohol. Flavours too are boozy with molasses and hints of brandy. The finish is an alcohol infused warming feeling. A decent nightcap. maeib (4730), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 17, 2004 Bottled. The beer pours a vibrant orange Lucozade colour with no head whatsoever. The aroma is a bit eggy and sulphuric with a bit of toffee and lots of alcohol. The taste is creamy. thick and gloopy alcohol with a bit of cod liver oil mixed in. It is sweet and a bit cloying but still fun to drink! DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2006 Bottle from Super Saver. Clear copper pour with 1-finger, off-white head. Aroma of big fruit, apricot, peach in heavy syrup, caramel malt. The flavor was caramel malty, with a rich, sweet, and hot palate that got hotter as it warmed. There was also apricot, honey, caramel, and some cognac in the taste. This one wasn’t bad ice cold, but it got really hard to finish as it warmed up. Lubiere (4529), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Vinous fruity aroma with pears and light hops. Sweet caramel in mouth, with notes of vanilla, licorice and oranges. Viscous bodied, rich and smooth in mouth, loud aclohol notes, remaining in mouth throughout! Excellent. Can from Piscator, from Manitoba.Merci Kris! ChristianScheffel (4529), Odense, Denmark
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 6, 2006 Updated: May 19, 2008Dark amber with a short lived, bubbly head. Aroma of malt, dried fruits, sherry, alcohol. Sweet flavour with only a bit of balancing bitterness at the end, and plenty of alcohol showing through.
Fresh beer rating: 2.7
Re-rate: A 15 years old bottle was much more pleasant. The sherry now completely dominated the aroma, and the flavour was more harmonic.

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 11, 2002 Head is initially average sized frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (molasses, light bread, caramel), with notes of peach, honey, and alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic. Full body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Ack...corn syrup and vodka in a glass. The aroma is fine aside from the vapors, but still a bit dull. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 16, 2003 Medium-dark amber, some reddish tints, little head that dies immediately. Powerful, but fairly simple aroma, deeply malty, alcholic, brown sugar & gum. Thick, viscous body with sugary & alcoholic tones, yeah I'll agree with Josh on this one, they're trying to cut the sickly-sweet malt with alcoholic harshness and it's not the best way. Somehow this is a beer that you want to "drink" but you have to "sip" and it doesn't really satisfy either way. Sigh. motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic
