Smells like alcohol, malts, and sugar. Has a thin but syrupy feel; def. sweet and w/ noticable alcohol warmth, which burns a bit in the finish. Really enjoyed it and found it perfect for sipin’, Has a very similar taste to their other eisbock, but much more light and drinkable. tgncc (845), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 22, 2009 Beautiful aroma of sweet ripened fruits, malty, bread-like, brown sugar. The appearance is also very attractive, a nice copper red color, substantial off-white head. The flavor was very sweet, but not cloying, fruity, brown sugar, slight alcohol (not much considering the abv), baked bread. The finish is where the alcohol comes out, aleaving an alcohol burn in the back of the throat. The finish has a very light bittering hoppiness as well. The mouthfeel is thick, and has a slickness to it as well. I really enjoy this style. While this is not the best Eisbock, it is certainly very enjoyable. Only the fact that it’s a little too boozy keeps it from being a classic. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Smell of wine, spice, malt, fruit, nuts, toasted caramel, alcohol and hints of vanila beans. Taste of plums, cherries, toasted malt, caramel, spice, toffee, nuts and alcohol. Very high alcohol taste and it really warms your body up. I like it! Thanks Brewblackhole! Cliff (366), Avon Lake, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 27, 2007 Bottle, poured a brilliant crystal clear copper color with huge white head. Slight malty aromas with a bit of alcohol. Delicious flavor, warming with a covering consistency. Caramel, sugar, ginger snaps? A wonderful beer. I glad I have a few more to allow to age a bit. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2007 Pours a clear amber with a one finger head that receeds without leaving lacing. Nose has a lot of alcohol present I want to say just a touch of gingerbread maybe. Extremely sweet on the tongue - almost as if it were a dessert drink. Alcohol barely comes through at the end, but you can’t tell you are downing 11% on this one, which makes it dangerously drinkable. Mouthfeel is smooth but with a syrupy tone. You could drink a lot of these in one sitting I’d imagine. But just be sure to call a cab.

It’s mostly just a bunch of alcohol, but it’s also full of flavors, so it’s not that bad, but not great either. A lot like Samichlaus, just not as good. Very liquor-like.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark amber with small to medium body particles of a thin density and an average-sized, off white head that mostly lasted and left good lacing. The aroma was heavy caramel, lost of alcohol, citrus, some fruitiness and whiskey notes. The initial flavor was moderately sweet; while the finish was heavily sweet and light to moderately bitter with an average duration. There was whiskey, caramel malt, citrus and then a little metallic hops with slight smoke too. The medium to full body was oily and a little syrupy with fizzy carbonation and a moderate to heavy alcoholic finish. cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2007 Powerful, sturdy brew. I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from this one, but it really surprised me. Enjoyable sipper to end the evening, I took my time sampling this. Aroma of candied sugar and rum, exceptionally sweet to the nose. Golden-amber pour with a surprisingly generous, thick head that provided ample lacing. Harsh mouth feel, overpowering alcoholic sweetness. Aggressive, warming, and pleasing. Smaller sips yield a more enjoyable experience. Flavor is thick with heavy malts, gritty sugar, syrup, and aftertastes of fibrous vegetables. Fermented dough, with a flowery perfume taste. Fairly complex and deep, it overpowers the senses. This would be a good beer to have on hand tucked away in the cellar for when the mood seems fit to enjoy. dchmela (1466), Orlando, Florida, USA

Aroma is creamy like a good sherry and carmelly. Smooth taste of an eisbock, slightly thick with some alcohol. A bit of sweetness, but very balanced.I like to treat this as an after dinner drink and sip it slow.
