No head retention at all, and the body is a medium amber. In the flavor I can make out some types of winter fruits, such as plums. A very heavy and strong beer! mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

Sapore follemente sbilanciato sul dolce, con complessità di miele e chiodi di garofano; una birra commerciale estremamente coraggiosa e, anche solo per questo, apprezzabile; se poi ci aggiungiamo che non è niente male, allora siamo a posto.__________________________ENGLISH TEXT HERE________Very particular and - in its own special way - inimitable, EKU 28 has been the spot of countless critics due to its high alcohol percentage and to its incredibile sweetness; anyway, it’s very far from a ’alcohol teens’ beverage. In fact it’s a very ’difficult’ brew, which doesn’t look in the eye the everyday consumer and doesn’t care for the expert’s taste and maybe that’s why it catches the attention of both worlds. Appearance is amber/dark red, with short lasting little head; aroma is very sweet: malt, malt malt, malt, malt, malt, malt and then... malt! Flavor is madly unbalanced, with complexity of honey and cloves; an extremely daring ’commercial’ beer and - even just for this fact - very enjoyable; if you add that it’s not bad at all, then you have the sum of the parts. Strong fruit flavor, very rich with no bitterness. A bit of tartness in the finish. Full bodied and very sugary. Many a little too sweet but a good beer nonetheless. lakersfan16 (53), Anchorage, Alaska, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 6, 2009 Pours a dark amber, almost copperish, with an off-white head. Aroma of sweet fruit including raisins, pears, and prunes. Fairly sweet and rich beer with a lot of alcohol, although it is not overwhelming. Very tasty overall, make sure to enjoy. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2009 Nice copper color with a white head that fades into trailing pools of carbonation. Nose is sweet with some fruit and alcohol. Medium carbonation. Taste is very sweet upfront. Nice, rich mouthfeel. Hints of orange that remind me of Grand Marnier, macerated fruit, raisins. Some hop bitterness on the back of the tongue evens out the sweetness. Noticeable alcohol, but that is to be expected. A good after dinner beer in the midst of the winter! thirdeye11 (558), Texas, USA
