Mar 31, 2003 Amber apricot in color with thin to no head. Decent carbonation for an eisbock. Aroma of fruit laced sherry with mouthfeel to match. A solid malty berriness with very warming alcohol. A good desert or cold night brew.

Mar 18, 2008 Clear, deep amber appearance with a large tan head that faded quickly and left modest lacing. Toffeeish, sweet malt and ripe fruit aroma. Woodsy/earthy taste mingles with the alcohol, giving it a dessert wine-like edge. Sweetness linger through to the finish, with the alcohol dominating the aftertaste.

Jan 21, 2005 Bottle. I have always liked this one, but it is not for everyone. This is a malt monster by every definition, although Samiclaus and Urbock 23 I think are superior. Golden and clear, with not much of a head. Massive malt aroma, with vanilla, a touch of alcohol, and various candies. Big malty, malt-wine flavor. No bitterness, just malt. Slight alcohol bite. Nice fire-sipping cold night brew.

Oct 29, 2007 (Söderbärke 2007) Golden color, no head. Malty aroma, vinous, oily, raisins, syrup. Raisin flavor, vinous and malty. Quite a nice bock!

Apr 2, 2004 Bottle...clear amber pour with no head. Aroma of raisins and macerated pit fruit (Apricots, peaches, etc,,,) Clean alcoholic flavor with those same flavors as the nose, raisins and pit fruit. Also a little smokiness noted.

Jul 8, 2004 Raisin malt aroma, very sweet. Head quickly disappears. This beer punches you in the tounge. Super malty, alcohol, grapes, sweet port. Geez. I could see savoring a bottle of this on a cold winter day.

Nov 14, 2004 Amber color, with a head that fades immediately upon pour. When you smell this beer, you know it has a punch. Very sweet and very alcohol nose. Most comparable to Samiclaus. Thick and very sweet on entry. You have to chew your way through this beer. Very complex fruit notes, with some woody hints. Pretty amazing this is 11%, but you can still tell it is high. A real warmer. Good if you are in the mood for something very strong.

Jun 27, 2005 Malty sweet aroma with choclatey undertones. Taste was same, well rounded, and nicely hid the huge alcohol (contrary to what others have found). Minimal aftertaste, also. (12oz/$3)
