Feb 4, 2003 Translucent copper color, head disappeared quickly. Nose of sweet caramel and alcohol. Initial sweet taste finished with alcohol and alcohol. Was a tad sticky toward the end of the glass. Definetly a sipper.

Jan 21, 2005 Bottle. I have always liked this one, but it is not for everyone. This is a malt monster by every definition, although Samiclaus and Urbock 23 I think are superior. Golden and clear, with not much of a head. Massive malt aroma, with vanilla, a touch of alcohol, and various candies. Big malty, malt-wine flavor. No bitterness, just malt. Slight alcohol bite. Nice fire-sipping cold night brew.

Jan 30, 2009 Light amber with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet malt and dried fruit, maybe a hint of almond. Taste is full of alcohol and sugary fruit, rich and sweet. Potent and very, very tasty.

Dec 17, 2007 12 oz bottle, aged nearly a year. Pours a lovely clear ruby with fizzy, vanishing beige head. Massive toffee aroma with sherry warmth, red licorice sweetness. Ungainly on the palate, with strong oxidation metals countering an initial fruity sweetness, huge brandy-like alcohol presence and faint medicinal hop finish. Thin on the palate, but quite sticky afterwards. OK once in a while.

Nov 26, 2008 Pours a very clear amber with little head. Aroma strong with molasses, plum, and malt. Flavor is excellent, with the molasses combining with malt, honey, and caramel to create a really nice sweet but drinkable brew. Palate is nice- not too thick like many beers of this sweetness, but still sticks to the tongue quite nicely. Very nice beer.

Jul 17, 2008 Gave off an aroma of sweet maple and gave off a similar taste. It had a somewhat upfront alcohol palate. Nice amber color and left a nice lacing in the glass...almost like a fine wine. Recommended for those looking for something new.

Aug 17, 2009 12 oz bottle Market of Choice. Was having a cheap(er) drinking night last night and was intrigued by an 11% bottle that only cost 2.50. Poured out a clear copper color with a very light white head. Aroma full of caramel, toffee, raisins and booze. Flavor was sugar, caramel, toffee, light raisin/fig type fruit and a big booze finish. This one will certainly get the job done and at 11% it’s a great way to get an inexpensive buzz on.
