Massive toffee aroma with sherry warmth, red licorice sweetness. Ungainly on the palate, with strong oxidation metals countering an initial fruity sweetness, huge brandy-like alcohol presence and faint medicinal hop finish. Thin on the palate, but quite sticky afterwards. OK once in a while. craftycarl21 (580), South Hero, Vermont, USA

Flavor is excellent, with the molasses combining with malt, honey, and caramel to create a really nice sweet but drinkable brew. Palate is nice- not too thick like many beers of this sweetness, but still sticks to the tongue quite nicely. Very nice beer. m138ke (2), Orsa, Sweden does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Pretty damn good considering the high alcohol percentage. Need to try this one again to write a proper review. v8powered (66), , Nevada, USA

Good flavor overall. Not sure ehy it is rated so low for such a tasty beer. KyotoLefty (1491), Kyoto, Japan

Huge, caramel, honey flavor with cookies and cake. Sweet and hot. Big, thick palate. Smooth and hot. A fun beer when taken in moderation. Better with some age.
