Massive toffee aroma with sherry warmth, red licorice sweetness. Ungainly on the palate, with strong oxidation metals countering an initial fruity sweetness, huge brandy-like alcohol presence and faint medicinal hop finish. Thin on the palate, but quite sticky afterwards. OK once in a while. jobyone (234), Charlotte, USA

Flavor is strong malt sweetness. Lots of Alcohol. I like it but a half bottle would be plenty. Good for an after dinner drink. blutt59 (2114), Dallas, Texas, USA

Syrupy mouthfeel, starts sweet and gets even more sweet. I’m not sure that I would like this as much if I drank a bottle or two at once. mephisto (1144), Taiwan

Clear amber hued having a rapidly diminishing large off-white head with excellent lacing. Heady sweet malt aroma with hints of toffee and fruits. Full-bodied with heavy consistency of maple syrup. Starts with smooth creamy malt flavor with slight hop and finishes thickly with slight cloying sweet flavor with some hop touches. Definite alcoholic warmth. A tasty drinkable eisbock beer that’s best enjoyed without food. patrick767 (2033), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 4, 2007 bottle - Pours clear light amber with a thin head. The aroma is malt and some mild dark fruit notes. The taste is sweet, almost syrupy, caramel malt and light fruit notes. Full bodied, lightly carbonated, and with some definite alcohol presence, especially in the finish, I thought this beer was a good dessert beer, but not what I’d call world class. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
