| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2005 nice fruity-sweet aroma, beautiful deep copper colour, and a thick but shortlasting head. creamy, medium heavy body, a bit hot but not too hot tasting, considering the 11% alcohol level, spicy, and sweet with a slight spiced bitterness to the finish. a pretty good, but not great brew, perhaps something to help warm you up sitting by a fire in the winter. A touch of herbal hops as it warms. Appearance: Deep amber in color and clear. Light bone head is full and foamy with good retention. Good lacing. Flavor: Sweet maltiness with a light toasted note. Caramel, raisins, bread dough. Alcohol comes through strong. Some herbal/spice notes into the finish. Slightly syrupy finish. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: ’World class’? Don’t know about that, but this was a good beer. A bit syrupy, but with some nice flavors. unclemattie (2433), Georgia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 19, 2006 12 OZ bottle via LIQUID sOLUTIONS. Pours a crystal clear amber with a large beige head. Aroma is very mellow with mostly just vanilla and toffee and perhaps some fruity melon. Wow this is sweet tasting...cloying...starts with a LOT of molasses, then some cherries, vanilla, raisins, and ends about as sweet as it started. Thin bodied. Some rummy alcohol present in the finish.Moderate to high carbonation. Not bad but would be better with more body and if it was not filtered. PHXHOPLOVER (50), LAVEEN, Arizona, USA

Semi sweet body, with fruitiness i would attribute to the yeast. Was told it was 12 percent on tap. alexanderj (2280), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2009 Bottle; the world needs more eisbocks. Poured a clear amber color; not much head, but really nice looking. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, grapes, alcohol and sweet malt. I could see the love/hate on this one, although to me it wasn’t extremely flavorful. However, it was a solid, malty beer. Caramel gives way to a burst of alcohol and dark fruit. A lingering toffee like presence in the finish. Not too much alcohol warming, which was a tad surprising, although the alcohol was always evident. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 24, 2007 11.2oz bottle, fridge cellared for approximately 6 months.
First Eisbock rating. It’s about time. Golden hued orange body with an immense, barely off white head. This thing is at least 2.5 fingers thick and going nowhere anytime soon. Very bubbly and sudsy in appearance. A decent coating of lacing adorns the glass when the head finally has enough. Tons of carbonation bubbles are the only thing marring the otherwise crystal clear body. Nose has tons of perfume, along with candied oranges, booze soaked dessert bread, cherries, pears and tons of fusel alcohol. Smells even bigger than the 11%, which is quite a feat. Fore is tart fruits, candied sugars, fruit cake soaked in booze and spice. Back end picks up a lot of citrus esters, along with more candied sugars and doughy notes. Not as sweet as I thought it would be judging by some of the ratings. Medium bodied, coats the tongue and throat like a hard liquor does, has a very rum like feel to it, only far more carbonated. Finish is boozy as hell, a theme with this beer, then sweet and finally finishing with more harsh alcohol. I’m sure this one would improve with a lot more aging on it. nearbeer (1864), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Give this one a chance; it gets better the further you delve.
